After much procrastination, here is the very belated post of my trip in Tokyo a month back. Of course, for anime and computer enthusiasts, being there means heeding the call of nature and making the pilgrimage to none other than.. Akihabara.

Lelouch welcomes you… to Akihabara.

Tokyo Anime Centre. Look at the life size models of Rei and Asuka, flanking both sides of Eva Unit 001. (I wonder what scale this is based on the “real” version)

Hirano Aya’s signature was easily found among the lot.

Anime archive at Tokyo Anime Centre.

Saber!!!! This life-size Saber costs thousands of dollars.. I will really like to know who will make the purchase.

Maids spotted. They are a common sight in Akihabara, and most are either distributing flyers or going around promoting their stores.

The famous oden cans. Unfortunately I didn’t buy any.

Ranka-chan aka Megumi Nakajima’s autographed instant photo was pasted right next to her single on the shelf. I believe any ranka fan will want to get their paws on this photo.. But a photo of this photo shall suffice. I did buy her single though, which makes me a self proclaimed proud owner of the original soundtrack and Ranka’s single, among the Macross F releases so far. (didn’t get Sheryl’s though..)

All these goods belong to misakichii except the one I circled. Hahaha… I did get my hands on another Kagami Nendroid the other day though.
That roughly sums up the otakuish part of my stay in Tokyo. There were many temptations but because of monetary constraints and physical limitations of my display cabinet, discipline must be exercised many a time. I saw a few figures of interest that were on preorder but the ruling was that one has to bring the preorder receipt and collect the figure in person on the day of release, so too bad for me..
