Is was me in the mirror looking at
my contour, wondering about my
distraction and vivid imagination.

My thoughts muddled
between two languages with
bemused meanings.

Verse is often sent slipping into
obscurity unable to stand 
alone, and genre sets uneasy
on a linear glow, filling
my notebook pages.

The broken black rose,

All my feelings left exposed,

Tears, sadness, nighttime.

*I have challenged myself to write 1 poem a day for a year. I have joined The Stafford Writing Challenge.

This is my attempt at a haiku, not a form I am familiar with writing. I will be mixing poetry forms up during the year. Wish me luck!
