Spreading the Gospel

– Motorhome

Matthew 28:19-20

I was born in a Christian family. I am the fifth child of my parents. God has worked in my heart since I was little. I gave my life to the Lord Jesus Christ at age 11.6. I am the fifth child of my family and the first child in my parent’s house to follow our Lord Jesus Christ. Then, the others wanted to do the same thing, not go to hell but be in heaven together.

Since I was little, I read Christian books about missionaries and missionary work. This touched my heart so much that I started to pray and cry to God to send me as a missionary in the world’s remote corners.

I remember when I was 11 years old, I had a book about William Carey, and I was praying for so many years to go and preach in India. Christian books were rare in those days; we passed them to read from one family to another.

When I was 21 years old, I was crying in my prayer, and I was asking God to use me the way He wanted. We were under the communism at that time. We were forbidden to preach the Gospel openly. God helped us share the Gospel with many who came to the Lord Jesus Christ.

When I was about 24 years old, communism collapsed, and freedom of speech was all around. I was working in a factory then, and God opened a source of Christian literature. God allowed me to bring tons of literature from the North of Romania to the South, where I lived. Many came to ask for literature because there was a huge hunger and thirst for the Gospel in those days—even the directors of the factory where I was working asked for Bibles and other Christian books. I remember when one of the directors from the factory I worked in called me into his offices and asked for more Bibles to give to his family. I saw the desire in his eyes and that spark of hope he would receive the first time.

Because Western Europe borders the north of Romania, many missionaries came to the north and brought Bibles and Christian literature. They didn’t drive through the country down the South as the routes could have been better, and Western people were afraid to travel in the South.

In the spring of 1991, while going up and down in Romania to bring Christian literature to the South of Romania, I met a missionary group named “CHRIST IS THE ANSWER”, preaching the Gospel in Lugoj, in the western part of Romania.

They invited me to stay with them for that night. They had a big tent, and God allowed me to preach to more than 1,000 people for the first time. After this experience, they asked me to go and join them for an extended period.

I went home, and I spoke with my parents. They encouraged me to do what God put in my heart and as He led me. I gave up on my job, and after I spoke with my church, they prayed for me. After I received their blessing, I joined the missionary team called “Christ is the Answer”.

I worked for more than one year with this team as we moved from town to town in Romania every month.

When we got to one town, Slatina, I wanted to stay in that area and preach the Gospel in another way. God guided me and helped me open nine churches in Oltenia County.

From 1992 to 2010, I worked as a missionary and Pastor-Missionary in the South of Romania, very close to the ex-communist leader Ceausescu Nicolae. I remember when people came to the Lord Jesus Christ with tears in their eyes. So many times, we bowed down on our knees together, and so many committed their life to the Lord. Even now, I have the image of many people with smiles, tears on their cheeks, and the spark of the joy of salvation in their eyes. I still hear the fervent prayers of many who came from darkness to the light of our Lord Jesus Christ. I still remember the hot tears rolling on the red chins of those who were repenting of their sins. I am still in touch with many of them, even now.

God used me to open nine churches at this time. Because communism collapsed and we had the freedom to access Christian information, there was a great hunger in people. I couldn’t lead all these nine churches, so I spoke with many other churches to take over this new one. In 2010, I was leading only two churches.

Between 1992 and 1999, I worked as a missionary, and in parallel, I worked as a volunteer with “The Evangelical Alliance in Romania”, an organization made up by Campus Crusade for Christ (CCFC) from the USA. From 1999 to 2004, I worked full-time with “The Evangelical Alliance in Romania”. We’ve done the courses with CCFC- New Life Centre (NLTC) and Biblical Preparation for Church Leaders (PBCPL) for five years.

In 2003, the Campus Crusade for Christ Romania activity was finished, and I continued to work as a missionary in the South of Romania. God sent many missionaries from abroad, and He used me to translate for many people from the USA, UK, Germany, and Austria. I went from place to place, from church to church, and helped them with Christian literature and preaching the Gospel.

In 2006, I started another course for pastors. After a few hesitations, I went and finished this course. This course was for three years.

In 2010, because of some health problem of one of our children, we had to move away from Romania. It was tough to make this decision. Finally, we proceeded with our family to London, UK.

Here, we had many challenges and many motivations, and we also had many blessings.

We lived in London starting in 2010 till 2013. In 2013, God allowed us to move to Basildon-Essex to help a small community of Christians, and I have worked with a British church since then.

God used us as a family in many ways, preaching the Gospel around the UK, helping many times in Sunday School, and helping an excellent team of tanagers on Friday – Friday club.

We often participated in street evangelization in many places and cities like Basildon, London, and other towns.

I did all this while working as a security dog handler for four years. It is a job that is quite tiring as it involves many shift hours. Because of this, I opened my own security company and had 27 people working for it. God blessed me in this industry, and I was doing very well for four years.

God allowed me to go and visit India in 2018 from September to October for 15 days.

Here, God allowed us to meet many Christians and encourage them. Four persons gave their lives to the Lord Jesus Christ. Many brethren are still waiting for me to go there to preach the Gospel. I pray one day; God will make a way for me to go and reach India again.

I am still in touch with a Christian team from Germany and Austria who used to visit me in Romania for summer and winter evangelization between 1994 and 2010. They call me from time to time to a small conference to let me know what is going on in Oltenia-Romania—this way, God gives me more motivation to start to work for Him and His kingdom again.

I am in touch with the two churches God allowed me to lead back in my country whenever they need me; we communicate by media. When I visited my country, we were happy to see each other and to have a wonderful fellowship. We even had a few baptisms, and I was glad I was a part of this, even when some people came and gave their lives to the Lord Jesus Christ.

I hope and believe that God Will be glorified again through the life He gave me here on earth. This is my reason to live, for His Glory.

I have been working with London City Mission since 4 January 2021, and there is so much to do.

God is stirring my heart to start raising money to buy a caravan to return to Romania and preach the Gospel in villages without a church. To be more efficient and not travel too much, a motorhome will make sense and be used for this outreach. Parking at the end of the village and being with the villagers every day for more than 200 days/year will allow me to get in touch, help with daily work in the garden, field, or home the villagers and in a way to create the connection that will lead to friendship and then to allow me to share the Gospel. Ultimately, I aim for a few to come to the Lord Jesus Christ, be baptized, and start a church. While I can travel with the motorhome back in the UK for the winter as the winter is not so cold in the UK compared with Romania, I will be able to visit several churches and friends plus family here in the UK. Then, next year, start again and go back to the village where God opened a door for the Gospel and continue God’s work until there will be a solid Christian community. After this, I can move to another village or area as the Holy Spirit leads me.

Please pray for this project to become a fact, for God to be glorified through his ministry, and for many people to come to the Lord Jesus Christ.

I will be grateful for your small or big donations to reach this goal. For more information and to stay updated, please send your contact details to my email.
