Honestly, I don’t know how I would have coped after my grandmothers’ deaths if it wasn’t for Coke showing up when he did. He came around every day, cooking for the whole family so that we didn’t have to, and distracting me with picnics, fishing, story-telling, and even wine-tasting. He managed to make me laugh, despite how much I was grieving.
Part of me still felt as though I should keep him at arm’s length, but my resolve was weakening by the day. I felt myself falling in love with him, and it was like a nice dream I never wanted to wake from.
One afternoon as we were picnicking by a gorgeous lake, I found I could contain my feelings no longer. We had been lying on our backs making pictures out of the clouds, and he gasped in surprise as I rolled on top of him and kissed him passionately. Shocked though he was, it didn’t stop him from kissing back, and I was very pleased to discover that kissing Coke was everything I had imagined it would be–and more.
When we finally broke contact, we were gasping for breath, and his eyes were dilated as he looked at me. His expression was not what I had expected. He looked…conflicted. He sighed, and sat up.
“God, Anya, you don’t know how much I’ve wanted that to happen,” he said, and brushed my cheek tenderly. I blushed and smiled, but he wasn’t finished. “I’m in love with you, you know.” My mind was still reeling from that simple statement when he dropped the next bomb.
“Anya, there’s something you don’t know about me. Something I haven’t told you. Haven’t told anyone. Before we go any farther with…whatever this might be, I feel like you have to know.”
I took his hand. The words came slowly, and with difficulty, but I had something I needed to tell him, too. “I love you, Coke. You can tell me anything. It won’t change how I feel.”
He took a deep breath, held it, and then let it out in an explosive burst. “Anya, I’m over three hundred years old.”
I stared at him, speechless, as minutes passed by.
“Please, say something,” Coke said, wincing.
“You look pretty damn good for your age.” And then I began to laugh hysterically. I laughed until tears leaked from the corners of my eyes and my sides were sore. When my watery eyes focused on Coke again, he wore a sad smile.
“You don’t believe me.” It wasn’t a question.
My laughter died in my throat. “You’re…you’re serious?” It came out as a hoarse whisper, while my mind felt like it was scrambling to keep up with what was going on. He looked at me steadily, and nodded. “So what are you, like…Immortal or something?” I looked around, half expecting paparazzi to reveal themselves with cameras and tell me I was on the newest episode of “Punk’d,” not that I was famous enough to be of interest to that show.
“I don’t carry a sword and chop people’s heads off on a regular basis, if that’s what you’re asking,” Coke chuckled wryly. “Come with me. I want to show you something.”

“That’s it?” I questioned, disbelievingly. “A…dessert?” That’s what it looked like to me. Well, except it gave off some weird kind of steam that seemed to spark and dance. I had to admit, I’d never seen anything like it before. I did, however, recognize some of the yellow, glowing fruit my dad had been fascinated with when I was a kid. He had told me it had been instrumental in my mother’s return, though he’d never really explained how.
“If I eat this on a regular basis,” Coke responded, “I will never age another day.”
I must have looked dubious, because he took me in his arms and pushed his lips to mine, almost desperately. “Try some,” he urged. “You’ll know I’m telling the truth. You’ll feel it.”
Woah, woah, woah. My mind put the brakes on. What if he is telling the truth? If I eat it like he wants me to…
Coke seemed to know what I was thinking. “One serving seems to rewind the aging process by about a year. I don’t know how it works, Anya. I just know that it does. I’ve spent my considerably long lifetime studying it, and I still don’t know much more than I did when I first stumbled upon it.”
I eyed the innocent-looking dish one more time. In all the time I’d known Coke, he’d never once appeared unsure, until today. I could tell he was worried I thought he was crazy. He wanted–no, he needed–me to believe him. As strange as his story was, the strangest part was that it rang true. Things I had puzzled about in the past began to take on new meaning. He’d always been so good at everything. No one could possibly master so many things in life…unless he’d had lifetimes to practice it all.
I picked up the fork, and took a bite.
Immediately, I felt as though I’d been immersed in icy water, and lit on fire at the same time. The world rushed in circles around me, and I actually felt the passage of time unravel itself. People age so slowly, I guess we never really notice it happening–but this was happening all at once. I couldn’t explain it, but I felt like months of my body’s life had been given back to me. I continued eating, and each bite intensified the effect. When I had finished, my skin was firmer, my hair was healthier, my nails were shinier, and I no longer had any doubt in my mind that Coke had meant every word he’d said.
He’d learned the secret of immortality, and he wanted to share it with me.
The enormity and the gravity of the situation hit me like a ton of bricks, and I was unconscious before I hit the floor.

I never even suspected that Coke might be “immortal”!!! What an intriguing twist! I wonder how Miss Anya will react to this once she wakes up :O

Hmmmm. Well this is an interesting twist my dear Styx. First off – Whuhuh? How the heck did they make out on the picnic blanket and then cuddle. . . AM I MISSING SOMETHING!?! Seriously, I’ve tried doing that. Grrr. Must experiment with Parker – OR Perrin and Bliss – hahahaha!
Okay now that, that’s out of the way. I love this new and exciting twist. Never dying sims, I like it. And Coke does look too mature for his age – haha no wonder. 300! Well he has 600 more to be the same age as our favorite Doctor. LoL.
I believe it’s closer to 625 :D… Who? Lol x

I wander how Anya will cope with this knowledge, will she talk him into not eating any more so they can age together, eat it with him..? Don’t say it’s the end of Coke and Anya!!
I feel very attached to poor Anya, I really want her to be happy.
Ah, I had them make out on a bed at the park (used a cheat to buy a bed on the lot), then deleted the bed, and moved them down to the ground with Twallan’s debugger mod. 🙂 ❤ Twallan so much!
I think Anya deserves to be happy, too! I'm hoping to wrap up her generation in 1 or 2 more updates. 😉

Of course you have to use Ambrosia during the cooking generation! I wondered if you’d do something like this. Anya is the one who’d be most likely to believe him considering who her dad and mom were. She’s more likely not to be completely skeptical.
Anyone ever wish that they made a death dish similar to the Ambrosia? I think it’d be neat to make something that caused a Sim to die or turn into a vampire or maybe get the mummy curse. That’d be awesome!
Yeah, if anyone would believe him, Anya would! Maybe not right away, but considering her parents’ history, I’d think she’d be more accepting than the average person. A death dish would be awesome! Man, I could definitely use that in my stories..lol.

The moment I saw Coke in this I immediately thought ‘OH NO HE’S IMMORTAL THIS IS GOING TO STUFF THINGS UP FOR ANYA’… but I guess she’s fairly accepting. You know, apart from the whole fainting thing. To be honest, as awesome as Coke is, I would’ve pushed him away and told him never to speak to me again. Oh well, I guess that’s what makes Anya and Coke good together.

I’m going to have to read the “Chimeree rainbowcy” now. I used to read Mariah’s Apple Alphabet Legacy on the sims2.com and that was fantastic so, I’m sure her rainbow legacy is just as awesome!

Hello, Styxlady. I’m Saffron, and I’m an extremely loyal fan of both your ISBI and this legacy. I have been silently reading for about a month, going through the entire legacy. Through this story I’ve found many others I’m enjoyed, including reading all the way through the Mason’s just to get to Vinny’s part of the story.
I loved this chapter, because Coke being immortal was the very last thing I expected! O.O I see how Anya, being the daughter of a time traveler, would be more inclined to believe Coke, but still be like ‘Your joking, right?’
I adore your story, and can’t wait to read more!

You know, I wondered whether Coke’s immortality was going to be mentioned at all, or if this was just going to kind of be a separate universe and therefore a different Coke altogether, and well, this answers my question! lol.
Now will they stay immortal together and forever….or decide to live life normally, until the day they die? (Yes, I’m assuming their relationship will work…they’re just so cute together, I must believe! lol) Can’t wait to find out =D

Bloody brilliant!! You’ve come such a long way since generation one as well(: I love how unique and vivid your characters are ❤ and I hope Anya and Coke can resolve the immortality issue – I think it would be best if they decided not to take a route of total immortality, rather just prolong their lives a little further than normal. Living forever would just be wayyy too much pressure.
But maybe that's just me(; Can't wait for the next chapter! x
