The family mourned the death of Monique for a long while afterward. The children constantly sat down with their mother and asked for stories about Monique’s life. Faun loved telling them about her mother. She explained how her mother was such a hardworking women who loved her husband and child so much.
While the family started to get over the death of Monique, Alexander seemed to develop an over-emotional side to himself. He would scream and cry in the middle of the night, not like ever before. Faun was getting sick of coming to pick him up only to be slapped in the face by her youngest son.
He would shake his crib, scream at the top of his lungs and generally keep his family awake wishing he would stop so they could all get some sleep before an early morning. But he was relentless. Had this all been brought on by Monique’s sudden death?
Yet the Summerstone Household went on as usual in their busy every day lives. Monique enjoyed not having to clean the house while trying to take care of her three youngest babies. The maid was a welcome relief to the chaos of it all.
Joseph and Jebidiah seemed to grow a bit apart, not spending nearly as much time together as they normally had before school started. Yet they both excelled in school. While Joseph seemed to spend a little more social interaction time at school than work on his grades, he still received A’s or B’s. Jung and Faun could not complain.
Jebidiah on the other hand studied his equations, questions and books faithfully, always finding it easy to stay ahead of everyone in the school. The teachers were stunned by how much of a genius he was.
Meanwhile, Joseph spent his time at home eagerly playing with his little siblings, trying to help out his mother and father whenever he could. Evan loved his older brother and looked up to him. His first words were not ‘Dada’ or ‘Mama’, but rather ‘Jojo’. He loved rattling off his older brother’s nickname all day long.
Needless to say, ‘Jojo’ didn’t mind the admiration much at all. In fact, he treasured it.
Jebidiah started to begin building towers from the blocks his parent’s had bought for his siblings. He loved building things out of the blocks and then tearing it apart and starting fresh.

The triplets started to get along better, always playing blocks with each other. Although, Elyssa did manage to sneak off and draw with her crayons or with the xylophone. They got along very well, a fact that Faun and Jung were very happy for. If they hated each other, life could have gotten a little hectic. Of course, with Alex’s constant crying during the night, life was already a tad chaotic, but they loved each and every one of their children the same. No matter how high maintenance they were sometimes.
The dreaded days after the weekend arrived. The boys always hated Mondays. Going back to school after a wonderful, fun-filled weekend of no school was torturous to say the least. They always got up later than they should have and trudged on out to the school bus with long faces. Faun could only laugh, they didn’t realize how easy life was for them now. Wait until they got to high school!
No, she didn’t want to think those thoughts! Not her beautiful sons, going off to high school. She couldn’t bear the thought of her children growing up so soon.
Every day when Faun would have the time to venture outside, she would enjoy the beautiful sights of her glorious house. The house her father had worked so hard to build up. The recent additions they had made for their three little babies was very welcome. It left them with little money in their wallets, but she knew her father and mother would have been proud of the beautiful house they are built up for their future generations.
Future generations. She sighed. She knew very well that her children were going to grow up soon, get married and have the fourth generation of the Summerstone legacy born. She could not believe it. They still had not risen to much fame in the town of Riverview, but maybe someday they would. Maybe someday they would be known for their founder and their history. She knew that was what her mother had wanted when she had come to Riverview.
Joseph didn’t put nearly as much effort into his homework as his brother did, and in time, his grades began to go down just a little bit. His mother and father were not happy with this and forced him to work harder and be diligent with his homework. He respected their wishes and did so, even if he wasn’t happy about it. His younger twin on the other hand was brilliant and completed his homework in no time, proclaiming that the work was to easy for him. Joseph could only roll his eyes. If only that was his case.
Jung worked hard on his article proposals. He had finally finished his book, The Rubellite Encryptor, but it had not gone over well. He didn’t get many royalties off of it, and certainly no one wanted his autograph for it. So, his work had asked him to write a few articles for him. He had worked on one entitled, ‘Pocket Lint, A Composition of the Rich and Famous’. It had gone over very well, he got paid handsomely for it. They had asked for another front-page headliner. He had chosen to write about the man behind a bestselling book.

Life went on like normal, every day bringing new surprises and new worries. Yet, it went on nonetheless and birthdays had crept up on them all. Whether they wanted it or not, it was time for Faun and Jung’s birthday.

Faun’s came first. She didn’t feel much older, but she knew that she was getting up there. Her hair’s curls had fizzled out, leaving only a slight wave. Just like it had been when she was a child, so she went back to the hairstyle she had then, and it worked out well.

Jung was not looking forward to his birthday, he knew he was getting old. Life had passed him by quickly. He was much, much older than his wife, but they still loved each other more than anything could explain. Faun was downhearted at the arrival of his transformation into an elder, this must have been what it had felt like for her mom when her father had aged up before her. But, she didn’t mind too much. They were still madly in love!
Get rid of that cake, tomorrow was going to be a big day filled with celebrations for every one of their children!
