Sideshow World!

            For some while, a common lament was that Sideshow World – a locus for so much of the sideshow business on the carnival lots, the clubs, and in history – had gone quiet, had ceased to operate. Effective October 2018, our partnership hopes to change that. We hope to make the joining of Showhistory (the internet’s one true factual site related to novelty & variety exhibition), Shocked and Amazed! (the world’s first and only journal devoted to the history of the biz, as told by the performers themselves) and Sideshow World into the internet’s clearing house for all the “other” show biz.

            But don’t expect to see the old Sideshow World wiped away. Not at all. Historically (and we care deeply about the history), much of what was the old SSW needs to be preserved, and for a while, at least, it will seem as though SSW is still “in amber,” at least until we can fix what needs to be:  It  needs to be searchable. And more accessible as a research tool. And yes, without so many broken links.

            Over the course of the transition, you probably won’t see much difference between the site of old and what it will transition into. As well, both Showhistory and Shocked and Amazed! will continue to operate their own separate sites. And we’ll keep you updated here, on our opening page, of all our current and upcoming activities. And see ya on the midway.
