American Children, Ages 7, 10, & 11 Seized By Norway’s Infamous Barnevernet

In the autumn of 2018, Natalya Shutakova, with her three children, ages 7, 10, & 11, left Atlanta and joined her husband and father of the children in Norway where he had a work contract.

In May, a Gestapo raid by Norwegian authorities seized the three children from their beds at night. Parents were hauled off to police station and held for 24 hours. They were told they could go to prison for two years if they talked about the case.

May 17 is a Norwegian holiday. It also happens to be the couple’s oldest daughter’s birthday. Brigita received an iPhone 6 for her birthday and the family enjoyed the celebrations. Over the long holiday, Brigita misbehaved and her parents took the phone away. Not surprisingly, she was very angry. On May 20, Natalya got a phone call from Brigita’s school stating that the 11 year old did not have a lunch.

Natalya went to the school. She knew she’d packed a lunch for her daughter. “She was hiding the lunch in her book bag,” said Natalya. Realizing she was caught in a lie, Brigita told a teacher her parents were going to physically punish her for lying.

That day, the Barnevernet received a complaint from the school.

Although the girl later recanted, it was too late. Following the nighttime kidnapping, the children were immediately shipped off to a foster home.

We ask United States Senator David Purdue of Georgia to request the Department of State to protest the seizing of the three American children, who were from Atlanta, by Norway on the 20^th of May, 2019, and demand that they be returned to their parents. (He has been contacted by the mother of the children.)
