ABOUT THE ALBUM

You're Not Alone is an EP by rock band OK Go and brass funk rock band Bonerama, released on February 5, 2008. It was recorded to raise money for New Orleans musicians displaced in 2005 by Hurricane Katrina, with the proceeds being split between Sweet Home New Orleans and a fund for a new house for New Orleans musician Al "Carnival Time" Johnson, who sings on the last track of the EP. It was only released as a download on Amazon MP3 and the iTunes Store, who have agreed to donate the full sale price to the cause.
The EP was recorded in August 2007 in New Orleans, Bonerama's home city. The first track is a cover of "Rock 'n' Roll Suicide" by David Bowie and the last track a cover of Bob Dylan's "I Shall Be Released", in which Johnson performs the lead vocals. The remaining three are arrangements of songs from OK Go's album Oh No, performed together by OK Go and Bonerama.

Rock-oriented New Orleans brass band Bonerama were formed by trombonists Mark Mullins and Craig Klein, both of whom had been members of Harry Connick's band since 1990. Mullins obtained a weekly residency at the New Orleans nightclub Tipitina's in the summer of 1998 and turned it into a trombone summit. In addition to Klein, he enlisted trombonists Rick Trolsen, Steve Suter, and Brian O'Neill (who died of a heart attack in December 2005), as well as sousaphone player Matt Perrine and guitarist Bert Cotton. The drum chair has been held at various times by Eric Bolivar, Terence Higgins, Russell Batiste, and Stanton Moore. Despite its horn-heavy instrumentation, Bonerama were a rock band, known for playing such covers as "Frankenstein" by the Edgar Winter Group along with songs by Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, and the Allman Brothers Band. The group's first album, Live at the Old Point, was released on October 9, 2001. Live from New York followed on August 26, 2005. Bonerama's third consecutive live album, Bringing It Home, which had been recorded at Tipitina's, was released on July 24, 2007.
