Contempt for America

The news media is making us stupider. Andrew acknowledges one exception: Brett Baier's show on Fox News. The rest of the media only report one side. Donald Trump has brought out the truth of their contempt for America. The world is about ideas. Most of the people are on the side of the founding documents. Utopia has never existed and never will!

Andrew's guest is Wilfred McClay from the University of Oklahoma. He is Director of the Center for the History of Liberty and he has a new book entitled, Land of Hope, an Invitation to the Great American Story. He says that most historians are Leftwing. Howard Zinn's books about America always elevate the underprivileged or minorities and the bad guys are always rich white guys, and his are the textbooks our public schools use to teach our children about America.

McClay sees America falling apart, because people don't remember what we are, what we have been, they don't have a knowledge of our founding principles. They don't have a memory that is a source of gratitude about being American. We ought to extend generosity to our own country like we do to those we love, none of whom are perfect.

We are a country that invented our own institutions. No kings. Equality was enshrined. We rule ourselves! A nation of laws. The Founders would be astonished that we are about to celebrate our 250th anniversary, because they knew the pitfalls previous governments experienced.

Andrew talks about how technological change is coming so fast (is he referring to Google's ability to influence election outcomes?) Tucker Carlson wants to slow down innovation, which Andrew does not agree with. McClay wrote a book called Why Place Matters, and Andrew asks him is there something that can be done to keep communities from disappearing without stopping technological advance? McClay answers that some technological innovations, like telecommuting, can actually help us stay where we are and establish roots in small towns. If I can figure out a way to monetize my blog maybe I can stay in Espanola, New Mexico and establish roots!

Andrew tells us about his event at a school in Idaho called New St. Andrews. He found the people there open-minded, tolerant of debate. The Christian press, though, negatively highlighted Andrew's tolerance of gay Americans as unBiblical. Leftwing activists are trying to create a small-minded atmosphere where Christians are seen as bigots against gays. Andrew is for welcoming gays into our churches. Leftists are working hard to achieve an anti-God, anti-family, anti-freedom culture.

"The Republic is dead!"

Scott believes the "racism" charge has lost any meaningful credibility. By focusing attention on "the squad," Trump makes them become the entire face of the Democrats, thereby destroying the Democrats.

The squad is killing it! They just took over the entire Democratic Party! They are the talk of the town. AOC is the star and talent. What will happen if one of the members of the squad starts working against AOC's interests? Omar is ruining AOC's brand. She is being branded anti-semitic. Omar puts the ceiling on AOC's potential. Omar is an anchor. Scott predicts AOC will break with Omar.

There is a lot of Helium3 on the moon. If it is easy to mine, it could totally change the energy situation on Earth.

Indonesia may take the lead in firing up a thorium reactor.

Professor Epstein and Google. Google manipulating search engine results in the 2016 election. Millions of votes were funneled to Hillary. 2.6 to 10.4 million votes! And Epstein is a Hillary supporter! He says Google did it intentionally. Trump had a strong base of support and was more strategic about where he campaigned. Nothing is in place that would stop Google from doing something similar in 2020! Do you think they will be better at it four to six years later? Now they know the characteristics of people who changed their minds. Scott says, "The Republic is dead!" The only thing that could change that would be an American Revolution! There needs to be an uprising against Google and maybe some of the other social media giants. Trump's administration is the least vestige of the Republic! If Google can last out the Trump administration, they will run the country forever! If the Trump administration can put in some kind of a court that can look at the algorithms to make sure they are fair, it's all over. Do you think Google might demonetize this YouTube presentation by Scott?

Trey Gowdy says that the House of Representatives have rendered themselves irrelevant! The government is self-destructing at the same time as Google is rising and making kingmakers!

There are on-going negotiations with North Korea. Iran is coming closer to doing the same thing.

Scott is sticking with his prediction that Kamala Harris will be the Dem nominee.

Down Through The Ages

The Stone Age. The Dark Ages. The Middle Ages. The Age of Reason. The Age of Discovery. The Age of Enlightenment. The Age of Imperialism. The Age of Aquarius. The Information Age. The Age of Viability. The Age of Accountability. Middle Age. Old Age. These are just a few of the ages and stages that society and/or individuals have gone through or will go through.

Unfortunately, there are those who seem to be hooked on adding a new age which should most probably be called The Age of Emotion. It shares some basics roots with The Stone Age, The Dark Ages, and The Age of Aquarius. But, it seems to be devoid of connections with The Age of Reason, The Age of Discovery, The Age of Enlightenment, The Information Age, and The Age of Accountability.

As a person who is in my Middle Age and preparing to enter my Old Age, I am sorrowed to see our society and many of the people in it regressing backwards to behaviors more suited to the primitive and barbaric ages of The Stone Age and The Dark Ages, not to mention all those behaving more like toddlers than adults. Screaming, throwing things, pooping on the sidewalk, ignoring reality, telling stories, and thinking that wishing alone will make it so.

On top of that, it is not like we can demand that people act their age ‘cause that is apparently on its way to being as fluid as they are trying to make gender. People are seemingly helter-skelter choosing their gender, their ethnicity, their species, and even their age.

Of course, having put these thoughts down on paper, I am thinking I may have miscalled this Age. Perhaps The Age of Idiots is much more fitting. What do all y’all think???

Cryptocurrency. President Trump came out against it. Cash money is behind almost all crime! Scott says crypto is here to stay.

The tech summit happened yesterday. At the same time, Twitter was out for an hour or so. Scott admits he is very addicted to Twitter. Scott was unsettled by the experience.

On the other hand, Scott believes President Trump was really deft in the way he handled the summit.

This is our Independence Day. Happy Birthday America. Two hundred forty-three years ago, after a summer of debate in Philadelphia, the Continental Congress adopted and published our Declaration of Independence. Fifty-six American patriots signed the document giving Great Britain and King George III the finger and pledging their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor to each other in support of the Declaration. They did this as the British fleet and army were arriving in New York to bring order to the colonies then in open rebellion. In the face of overwhelming odds, these patriots were risking everything they had, including their very lives, to present the incredible gift of freedom to each and every one of us today. We owe these men a debt on which we can only make a payment by ensuring their work is never forgotten and the ideals they advanced live forever.

Since that time, as a nation we have celebrated the Fourth of July in many ways. We celebrate all those who contributed to our freedom and the country in which we enjoy it. We do this by honoring these men, women and our great nation with parades, concerts and fireworks. In towns and cities large and small our celebration serves as our recognition and thanks for the incredible sacrifices made by so many who came before us, and an acknowledgement of our responsibility to future generations. We celebrate and hold in places of high honor the symbol of our nation, our flag, and pledge our allegiance to it. We freely offer the gift of America to the world.

We live in troubled and uncertain times, but so did the fifty-six patriots who risked everything they had for us. As we celebrate our Independence Day, we must guard the precious gift of freedom by always pledging ourselves to it, and we must never be dissuaded in our commitment by the actions of others, lest we allow them to devalue our beliefs. Rather, we must always be vigilant for threats to the American ideal and keep it alive in our hearts and minds as we hand it on to posterity.

Progressives are actually regressive. Conservatives are actually progressive!

In his opening two minutes, Andrew takes on the new darling of the Democrats, Kamala Harris.

Then, he continues with his thoughts about what is going on in America. He says the divide is between friends and enemies of the American founding ideas. Friends of the founding ideas try new things but with a tried and true system, the Constitution. In fact, if you think about it, conservatives are progressive, while progressives are actually regressive! The Left wants to return to the age-old racist divisions. Conservatives don't want to return to the top-down government that has been the norm since Pharoah. That is what the Left wants. Conservatives believe people should be judged by the content of their character, not the color of their skin.

So many of our big corporations who became big in America change when they go global. Gone is the patriotism! Nike pulled the shoes they were going to debut this weekend with a picture of Betsy Ross's original American flag. They have become slaves ow whatever outrage mob comes along. This time it was multi-millionaire Colin Kaepernick who complained.

Jenna Ellis Rives comes on to talk with Andrew about recent Supreme Court decisions. Justice Roberts is a #NeverTrumper. Gorsuch has been an outstanding originalist. Kavanaugh not so much.

Andrew then opened the mailbag of questions from subscribers.

What needs to be done to restore our culture?

Andrew's guest today is Lawrence Mead, a professor at NYU. He has written a book entitled The Burdens of Freedom. He says to be free is to take on responsibilities, take the steps needed to realize one's own promises. Only the West is individualistic. Will you take on the burdens of freedom in order to pursue your goals?

Andrew is back! He has been thinking about the American Divide.

Andrew has been off for a week, hiking in the Alps with the girl of his dreams. Being in a foreign country made it so difficult to get straight forward honest reporting of the news that he almost felt like he was still here in America! Example: Donald Trump decided to launch a military assault against Iran and was, therefore, a mindless hawk getting us into a mindless war with an innocent nation...Then, he decided to call off the attack and was, therefore, a coward letting himself be pushed around by a terrorist regime!

When Black Americans find out how badly the Democrats have screwed them for the last fifty years, Americans will need to import more Mexicans fast, or else Democrats will never be elected to anything again!

While he was away, Andrew thought about the American Divide. He decided it was really about those of us who love our founding documents vs. the anti-founders who have nothing except their own amorphous sense of their own glowing compassion, tolerance, and virtue. Anyone who opposes them can be opposed by any means necessary!

Andrew talks about a reporter named Andy Ngo, a gay guy with Cambodian ancestry, who was attacked by Antifa in Portland, whose leaders allow them to wear masks and commit violence.

The anti-founders justify their violence by referencing their own virtue.

The corporate Left owns about 95% of the communications industry in America. They target Trump, instead of the immigration problem. They want things to get worse so Trump collapses, just as Lenin wanted things to get so bad that capitalism would collapse and people would want communism.

Kamala Harris attacked Joe Biden for being against busing.

Scott is traveling today, but does his show from his hotel room, even though his coffee cup had a hole in the bottom!

Scott gives a shout out to Ali Alexander for tweeting the truth about Kamala Harris not being an African American. I would also point out that in February Megan Fox wrote a story in PJ Media indicating that Kamala is descended from a Jamaican slave owner.

Thinking outside the box

One of many reasons Scott Adams is unique is because he doesn't believe facts, reasons, and policies make a difference in who we select to be our leaders! While there is no doubt that there is truth to that way of thinking, I find it irritating. The reason I spend so much time reading is I like to analyze facts, reasons, and policies! Scott lives in the persuasion realm, where people associate things irrationally. So if you can associate somebody with some bad character, you win. You pair things and then they take on the qualities of the other!

Scott thinks the anti-Trump media has made a huge mistake in quoting Jimmy Carter, a 95-year-old who is famous for being the worst president in modern history. Carter said Trump was elected because of Russian collusion. Who else is old and who else are people having doubts about his credibility? That's right, Joe Biden! Will people associate Biden with Carter? Not good for Biden!

When Scott learned hypnosis, he learned that people reveal their intentions by their choice of words. Biden says he is in the 2020 race because the USA is at a turning point. Biden said in an interview, "It doesn't mean I'm going to win. I hope I can make a contribution." Scott hears capitulation! People who haven't given up yet don't talk like that.

Scott says that the Democrats have become the hoax party. The Russia collusion hoax, the "fine people" hoax of Charlottesville, and Kamala Harris's assertion that Joe Biden praised segregationists. Then there is the climate change prediction models hoax, which Scott does not yet call a hoax, but many of the rest of us think it is!

Scott follows Bill Polte on Twitter. Polte is interested in cleaning up areas that are blighted.

President Trump is getting criticized for inviting Kim Jon Un to meet him somewhere such as at the DMZ while Trump is in the neighborhood. Scott believes Trump is setting a standard of warmth that future presidents will struggle to imitate. First Kim and Trump need to sell each other on a plan. The deal is the relationship! Second, they each need to sell their own nations. Trump has established productive relationships with Russia, China, and North Korea! Who else has done that?

Trump has also required drug companies to list their prices. What other president is this strong, brave, or determined?

Do you think President Trump could maintain friendly relations with Putin but then stab him in the back if Putin tried to do something that would hurt America? Scott says, "You know he could!" Trump also expressed dismay that we trade so little with Russia. Don't you feel safer about China, knowing that we have so much trade with them?

One way to turn an acquaintance into a friend is to share a secret with them. Trump's casual invitation to Kim Jong Un to meet at the DMZ is similar to this concept.

Kamala Harris is not African American. She is Indian-Jamaican-American. One part of her family tree was actually a slave owner.

Scott thinks Andrew Yang is very likeable. Yang said, "running for president makes the world seem like a simulation." Is reality a simulation?

What if we gave a free smartphone and free minutes to every illegal immigrant? The government would put an app on there telling them about employers who are hiring, it would do language translations and actually teach English, someone could list themselves as willing to share their home with illegals, employers can only pay them through the app (so they would have to pay taxes), the government takes some money, and they can be tracked!

Wallace wins the first debate and Harris wins the second

One year ago Scott predicted that Kamala Harris would be the Democratic nominee. He thinks she won last night's debate. Elizabeth Warren won the night before. "It is now impossible for a man to win the Democratic nomination."

Bernie is going to fall away and so will Biden.

There is a "Predict It" website where you can place some bets. Scott has place some bets based on persuasion.

He bet Kamala Harris would be the Dem nominee although Warren looks strong. Kamala shut down all of the other Democrats when she said the voters want to see food on the table, not a food fight. She mischaracterized Biden's history on segregation. His response was weak and ended when he said his time was up.

Biden doesn't look up to it. Not working on all cylinders. No chance to be president.

Scott gives credit to Hillary for breaking the glass ceiling. Almost no one in the media is even mentioning the fact that in each of the first two debates a woman won. No one talks about a minority ethnicity as a negative nor do we talk about anyone's gender as a negative.

Swalwell frozen face. Botox?

Yang has never run for public office, but is doing well. He doesn't come across as a politician.

Trump seems to be on very friendly terms with many other world leaders.

Bernie Sanders wants to make college and tech schools "debt free" for students. He would do that by taxing Wall Street transactions. Scott would like to see what economists say about this tax on Wall Street transactions. Scott thinks it might be a good plan. It is worth a look.

San Diego is building tent cities for the homeless. Scott puts forth the idea of having one place for all homeless people. All the cities in California could ship their homeless to one city!

New Iran sanctions were put into place today. A top Saudi diplomat said the history of bad relations with Israel is over for the Arab world. Arab world! More isolation for Iran.

Jared Kushner is putting forth a new Middle East peace plan. Why is there not much talk about it? The Palestinian leadership has turned down lots of money that was to be part of the deal. $50 billion dollars?

Iran has threatened that they could shoot down more of our drones.

Ravelry doesn't want to support white supremacy. Scott thinks they should stick to their knitting.

Jordan Peterson has a new social media site called Thinkspot that is coming in the future.

Pete Buttigieg not looking like a leader. Going nowhere.

Kamala Harris has one big problem. She has an unconfident smile and laugh. Trump doesn't laugh at his own jokes. He has a very controlled reaction to the humor. Kamal Harris has a nervous smile and laugh which projects a lack of confidence. It is like she is laughing at her boss's joke. Subordinate! Submissive! Scott believes she can fix it and thereby rise in the polls.

Scott Adams' views on the top news stories

How many women in America have had a sex dream about President Trump? Scott guesses probably thirty million. Same with Obama, same with George W. Bush. Then, Scott corrects that figure downward to hundreds. Scott has heard of hundreds of stories about encounters involving himself with someone he has never met.

Mass hysteria in the Dominican Republic. Scott guesses that some people died of environmental poisoning. Alcohol? (I don't know anything about this story).

Iran: maybe our drone was in Iran's airspace for a period of time, and by the time they got around to shooting it down, it had left their airspace. Lying to the public about the location of military assets is acceptable. If it helps our cause, Scott wants them to lie to him! He is talking about the short term. In the long term the truth comes out, and that is good. Iran is now saying there was a second aircraft that was manned.

Pete Buttigieg will not be our president. Cringy weak! He was speaking to Black Lives Matter protesters. He said in response to a group member, "I'm not asking for your vote." Scott thinks the replaying of that video will end his chance to be president.

21 Democrat candidates showed up for the Clyburn fishfry in South Carolina. Scott believes Bernie suffered badly in the appearance, appearing old and angry.

CNN anchorwoman wonders if the reason Trump did not attack Iran was that Tucker Carlson was so against it. Scott believes Trump would not win reelection if Tucker turned on him for a good reason. Having a war with Iran at this point is optional. Tucker is in a position to stop it!

Since it is a "quiet" news period, Scott opened the remaining portion of the podcast to questions from the audience.

It's Scott Adams, so let's suppress his voice!

Scott Adams always likes to think about persuasion. He thinks Trump's new slogan for 2020, "Keep America Great," is excellent persuasion. Because, even more than we want new things, we do not want to lose what we already have!

Reparations? Those who are talking about it are looking for an off-ramp. Once we have listened and talked about it, then we have an off-ramp. Black people may start a conversation that persuades rich people to provide opportunities for people of all races who are in the lower economic strata.

Scott believes Joe Biden now has zero chance of winning. CNN has turned on him! He creates a trap, then falls into it! The more they ask the question, "Is Biden out of step with 2019?" the more it becomes the news! Whoever becomes the candidate for the Democrats becomes CNN's brand! Do they really want that to be Joe Biden? No! Did they want to be associated with Mr. Cool, Barack Obama? Yeah!

CNN's Symone Sanders is apparently one who has spread the "fine people" hoax, misquoting Trump's Charlottesville comments. Scott shows how her defense of Joe Biden working with segregationists has trapped her into the same hoax.

Iran shoots down a drone. Is that what the future looks like? Wars where there are no humans involved! Whoever owns the sky will win every war if they care enough to fight it. Regarding Iran, will we take Lindsey Graham's advice and take out Iran's entire navy and their refineries? Scott ranks the odds at 50-50.

Will it be Elizabeth Warren vs. Donald Trump in 2020? Grandma vs. Dad? Her two biggest problems are that she is a lawyer and an academic. Trump understands that how people feel matters. Warren believes that how people think matters. It should be a Trump blowout if she is the candidate. Scott believes Kamala Harris is the sleeper.

Scott believes the risk of companies staying in China go up considerably. The big story is that nobody is going to move in.

Scott's advice: don't ever compare anything to the Holocaust and ditto with American slavery. AOC keeps getting more powerful because of our reaction to her. You can hate her politics but still respect her talent.

Is there anything you would want less than Facebook controlling your money?

Scott thinks this video will be demonetized by YouTube because he talked about the "fine people hoax." When he did it before they shadow banned him, hiding his traffic. It was human intervention. Someone is watching who thinks it is their job to suppress Scott's voice.

Will this be called America's "Age of Readjustment?"

...If 2017 was ‘the year of the market’, adding 25% to its value; 2018 has been the ‘year of the worker’. The year that money flowed from the corporations into the lives of people. It was the year of in-sourcing, of reinvestment, of repatriation. “In 2018 some 4 million workers got pay bonuses from employers thanks to the Trump tax cut. (…) Pay gains in real terms this year are now estimated at 3 percent (…) The latest jobs report spotlights 7 million more job postings than workers available to fill them.” It has even trickled into the most unlikely of markets, for example “…hiring of ex-convicts is rising rapidly as employers search for ready and able workers. In some instances, employers are so hungry for labor that they wait outside the prisons for the inmates to be released so they can hire them.”

...Apropos of that, the Wall Street Journal labeled the greatest loser of 2018 to be the “Liberal International Order”. Of course such an ‘order’, if it existed at all, only did so in the imaginations of America’s new aristocracy who counted on the permanency of their role in the world as the overseers and supervisors of humanity’s interactions. The fall of the “Liberal International Order” is probably better referred to as the “refutation of the ruling class”. Readjustment, because, let’s be honest, those who saw it as their job to manage our world were not doing a very good job. Forever wars, great recessions (economic and democratic) and environmental degradation. Those who brought us the Iran Nuclear Deal and the Paris Climate Accords surely are not those who have the answers to the anarchy that came; if nothing else that is obvious. Ergo the ‘readjustment’.
