Curvaceous
“If you’ve got it, flaunt it.” I’ve got new boots from Gos, and they’re certainly going to get me noticed.
The problem I have with majority of knee high boots in world is form. The shape isn’t right on the leg, the leather isn’t formed in a realistic way and the majority are also a nightmare to fit. Gos’s Burlesque raised the bar for me, but Curvaceous takes it to a whole new level giving you everything and more in a super sexy package. Read the rest of this entry »

Homecoming
*Whistles innocently and slips back in, closing the door soundlessly behind her*
LeLutka isn’t somewhere I shop too frequently. Historically that’s because of the horrendous lag I always experience on the sim, but I have to say that their new build seems far more friendly to the busy shopper and I’ve found myself there more and more of late. I spotted this pretty mac and couldn’t resist – it’s the sort of coat you can wear through the seasons, and it does sit well over whatever else you might have on. Read the rest of this entry »

Liquorice
It just felt like a grey day.
I used this new top from Ingenue as a base for the style. Available in the usual plethora of shades, Aquallerist is a stylish and feminine piece perfect for winter wear. With soft cowl neck draping down to the front, it also features puffed sleeves that close tight around the wrists, further detailed with a gradient effect on the edging that darkens the tone. This does crop right at the waist so may leave some flesh showing with many of the lower-waist skirt and trouser designs – I’ve fended that off here by popping on a long tank from Jane. As all colours of this top are free, you may want to pick up a few tones while you’re there. Read the rest of this entry »

Tell me, is it my fault?
While I can’t say I’m particularly looking forward to the colder weather, I am looking forward to a shift in fashions, with some designers already bringing out some inspiringly seasonal designs.
This hair from LOGO is a suitably autumnal shade, and while I suspect I may have eventually come across the tent at the Hair Fair, I saw this first on Gogo’s blog. As a new brand, LOGOs first releases are quite impressive, well constructed with neat textures in some interesting tones. This styled loose do is layered and flicked, some feathering coming across on pieces of the fringe. While currently you can only find the designer at Hair Fair 2010, a mainstore has been promised soon and is worth watching out for. Read the rest of this entry »

Wear Gray for a Day
There’s been a glut of events lately and while it’s meant we’ve all had to dig deep into our pixel purses I don’t think any one can complain about the quality of the shopping experience. If you’re going to spend the Lindens anyway, you may as well make sure they’re going towards a good cause, and Wear Gray for a Day is definitely that.
Sanura Snowpaw set up the campaign in SL to raise money for the American Brain Tumour Association (ABTA) after she lost her cousin to the disease in 2009. This struck a particular chord with me as my own cousin was diagnosed with inoperable brain cancer when she was just twelve years old. After a year of suffering she passed away. The hardest thing for me to understand at the time was why, when she had first complained of headaches and sickness as an eleven year old, none of the doctors had taken it seriously, dismissing her mother’s concern and even suggesting it was some childish ruse to earn time off school. If they had begun treatment sooner, if they had been able to operate, would things have been any different? Read the rest of this entry »

Flood Plains
The best thing about virtual boots is not having to worry about water damage. Or uneven riverbeds which might lend to stiletto-related disasters of untold proportions.
Royal Blue have just reopened and have a small collection of well-made clothing on offer. My favourite piece is this jacket which also comes with the option of spiked shoulder pads – not quite right for this look but nonetheless a creative twist to be appreciated. It has something of a satin finish, subtly lit for a good sense of realism. With rolled three-quarter sleeves and open front the jacket is perfect for layering up and will serve you well on the transition to the cooler months. As with most prim-part clothing you may need to tweak your shape and the jacket to fit, but it’s always worth a little effort to achieve a polished look. Read the rest of this entry »

Jealous Tides
Evie Miles posted pictures to Flickr of some of her creations at the weekend, giving me all the encouragement I needed to zip over to her store and make a purchase. I’m wearing part of the Nereida dress in its shortened state, a light and airy gown with panelled skirt flowing from beneath the chest in shades of bright gold and orange. It drapes down to the knee with a white underskirt to add an extra dazzle to the style. I meant to blog sooner but failed miserably: this particular colour was on sale at the weekend, so if you missed it, you may have to settle for one of the other equally gorgeous colours available in store now. Put me on a pedestal
Shoe Fair 2010 opens its doors tomorrow and you’ll find an array of fantastic new footwear from a huge range of designers. With everything on offer it is difficult to know where to begin, but I can guarantee you’ll get a kick from Gos’s new Platform Pumps.
This sleek stiletto features an elongated platform beneath the toe, leading back to a beautifully pinched heel that perfectly encloses the foot. Beautifully lit from every angle, the shoe straps across the front with a delicate metal buckle, although you can can wear these open by hiding the strap if you prefer. The pumps are a beautifully snug fit with scripted resize, are Viewer 2.0 ready and are colour change to all parts of the shoe, giving you massive customisation options in each and every gorgeous colour duo. With all the options available in each pair along with the exceptional quality, you’re getting a bargain for your L$295. Make sure you pick yours up when you visit the Shoe Fair, and don’t forget to have a look at all the new Docs texture updates while you’re there. Read the rest of this entry »

Uptown
Luxury living – isn’t this how it should be? No one will object if I borrow a backdrop in any case.
Tres Blah have produced this pretty chemise which I noticed on my travels this weekend. With a lacy decolletage and flowing double skirt it has something of a vintage feel, chevron details accentuating the bust, helped along by the ripples of the fabric against the skin. The sensible shoulder straps go a little wide over the shoulders for my liking, although the lead up front and back is neat. Not enough to bother me and can be covered up if you prefer; overall it’s a sweet little top, reasonably priced and well deserving of a place in your inventory.
