Hi @Geometrein, This community is managed by GitHub employees, but it is not a support forum. The only place to go for answers to account-specific questions like this one is opening a ticket on our Support page. We also put together a FAQ on 2FA in case you might find any useful information there. This is a public forum, and the community is unable to assist with nor escalate your ticket, but we can assure you it is in the right place. It will be answered in the order it was received based on our team's resources and the amount of tickets ahead of yours. As no other Community Discussions team members will be able to provide additional help with account related questions I am going to close this discussion. We appreciate your understanding! |

My friend was locked out of her account after clearing her browser cache and now 2FA codes are not accepted by Github.
She has the codes linked to the correct account in the Microsoft Authenticator app but when the codes are entered Github rejects them...
She still has access to the account through vs code token but other than that she is basically locked out, can't write to support and can't even write here (because you need to log in, that is why I am writing for her)
She does not have the recovery codes but she has the 2FA codes active... How can she bring Github's attention to this or access her account?
The unlinking of the account is highly undesirable because the page contains her projects and profile picture and again she has the 2FA codes. It's GitHub not accepting the codes...
We tried different computers / browsers / recovery alternatives with SSH and device verification (both are not active for some reason...) nothing got us closer to account recovery.
