Hi @hangshan-boop,
If your system isn’t booting from the MINIX3 CD-ROM, here are a few tips and tools that might help:
🔧 Recommended Tools to Burn MINIX3 ISO:
[Rufus](https://rufus.ie/) (Windows) – Make sure to select "Write in ISO Image mode" when prompted.
[balenaEtcher](https://www.balena.io/etcher/) (Windows/Linux/macOS) – Very straightforward, especially for USB drives.
Brasero or K3b (Linux) – Both support proper ISO burning for CDs/DVDs.
✅ Things to Double-Check:
Burned Correctly?
Don't just copy the .iso file to the CD—use a proper ISO writing tool with "burn image" mode.
ISO Integrity:
Redownload the MINIX3 ISO and verify its checksum to ensure it’s not corrupted.
BIOS Settings:
Make sure the CD/DVD drive is selected as the first boot option in your BIOS. Also, try enabling Legacy Boot (CSM) if UEFI mode doesn't work.
Try a USB Instead:
If possible, use Rufus or balenaEtcher to create a bootable USB stick instead of a CD-ROM. USB boot is generally more reliable on modern hardware.
Check Hardware Compatibility:
MINIX3 has limited hardware support. Older machines or virtual machines like VirtualBox/VMware tend to work better.
If you're still stuck, feel free to reply with:

The article sounds like a solid starting point for those of us still learning the ropes. I’ve been exploring GitHub more seriously recently, and advice around collaboration and growing as a junior engineer is definitely something I could use more of. Will check it out. |

I started using GitHub a few weeks ago. One thing that really helped me was using GitHub Desktop instead of the CLI at first. It made committing and pushing code easier to understand. Also, the GitHub Learning Lab is super helpful! |
