Hi Janet The git remote set-url origin https://github.com/<backup-account>/<repo>.gitthat should let you push again. for the suspended account, only GitHub support can restore access. so just keep your support ticket open. |

Hi @Janet0311, This community is managed by GitHub employees, but it is not a support forum. You have done everything necessary on your end by opening a ticket on our Support page. This is a public forum, and the community is unable to assist with nor escalate your ticket, but we can assure you it is in the right place. It will be answered in the order it was received based on our team's resources and the amount of tickets ahead of yours. As no other Community Discussions team members will be able to provide additional help with account related questions I am going to close this discussion. We appreciate your understanding! |

Summary
My GitHub account 'github.com/Janet-ChengYutung' was suspended while I was using Copilot. I opened a support ticket and reinstalled Git & VSC, but I’m still blocked from pushing to the repo of my backup account.
Current error
git push fails with: remote:
What I tried (macOS)
Opened a GitHub Support ticket
Reinstalled Git and VSC
Signed out/in of GitHub in VS Code and removed GitHub sessions
I’m able to push code from the GitHub virtual coding environment (Codespaces) only
Note
Copilot is showing a yellow status on GitHub Status, but the 403 looks tied to the account suspension.
Questions
How do I fully detach VS Code/Git from the suspended account on macOS so I can be sure no credentials are cached?
Anything else I should add to my Support ticket to speed up review?
