Can a template select Project and Status?

We've enabled "Projects" in a repository, and have 4 Status.
Can an Issue Template set Project and Status to constant values?
I've read https://docs.github.com/en/communities/using-templates-to-encourage-useful-issues-and-pull-requests/configuring-issue-templates-for-your-repository and it doesn't seem so.
