WU-TANG are all like fucking grandaddies now who are pimpin out ODB’s “pretend crack baby son” but they still ain’t nothin to fuck with (especially Meth). On that note when will rappers start retiring? And by that I mean retiring like not retiring as a marketing gimmick then coming back a year later? Are we gonna be listening to Jay-Z in his 50’s or 60’s? Thats gonna be some weird shit, what will he be rapping about. I’m gonna get fucked out of my brain and try travel to the future. Let you fuck bitches know what I find.

SBTRKT is a geeked out producers wet dream. His construction and deconstruction of a beat is something akin to that of musical brain surgeon. Slowing a tempo so it still merges effortlessly with a song then speeding the fucker right up again is something few can achieve on a good fucking day. He did it so well with “Nervous” with long time Gurn friend Jessie Ware. Now, he teams up with an even more accomplished vocalist in Little Dragons’ Yukimi Nagano. The effect of this is the bouncy base genius of “Wildfire”. From the ‘SBTRKT’ release on youngturks in 2011. Got to hand it to those kebab guys they sure know how to put out some decent music.

Saw this dude last night at the boilerroom but sadly no P.A. Still he dropped some decent tunes. Havent really got the concept of musicians DJing. I think it’s a bit of a con and disrespectful to actual Dj’s. But what the bluuurdclot do I know. This video is a lot more mellow than his last tune about being drunk or whatever. Still it works because it’s simple, consistently dark and seems he has a mystically never-ending cup of coffee. I think when the bigwig record labels catch unto it Ghostpoet will have the potential to be massive. Then again he might just be a run of the mill 300 views on youtube type guy. Who knows eh? who fucking knows. Guilty pleasure it that the director is tagged as unknown which I think is humbling. I always big up directors but often enough they big up themselves. Don’t believe you’re hype. Stream Ghostpoest album here
