Trick or Treat

Today is the last day of November and I am posting a set of cards for our challenge-The Catch-up Club! A few of my stamping friends, Darlene, Jeanette and Terry along with myself, have signed up for a number of virtual stamping events in the past 4+ years.  One of the benefits of these events are that they are available to rewatch or even watch for the first time at a later date as they are all recorded. The 4 of us "try" to watch live and chat by texting during the event.  But, life steps in and there are times when one or more of us are not participating during the live.  Then, the kits from sponsors sits in our stamping area until we are ready to watch the video and create.  During one of the events, we decided we needed to push ourselves (and each other) to get some of these events done!   So--we all decided to devote one day a month, the last day of the month for the somewhat procrastinators that we are, to post cards we missed making.

So--here we are in our 30th month of The Catch Up Club!

Reminder--these are not my own designs!  The cards are the designs of the other instructors from these classes.  I am just recreating the cards from the class. This month the creations are again from Sarah and The Paper Cut in Appleton, WIS!

These 5 slimline Halloween cards are from a parts and pieces kit from Sarah.  I did make these same cards a few years ago in a class, and they were shaker cards.  I even found the die set on a website as they are retired and there were not enough monsters for the cards!  Can't wait to use them in the future too!

Sarah offers many different kinds of classes through the year and kits can be ordered from their website.  I have a few other virtual classes from The Paper Cut that need to be completed. Plus, I have loads of card kits from their September Warehouse Sale to make--Soon!  And, I also have parts of other virtual events and classes from 2024 and 2025, I am already way behind, so more Catch Up to Come!

I hope you enjoyed my cards!  Here are the links to the other of the Catch Up Club.  Please be sure to check out Jeanette's, Terry's, and Darlene's blogs.  They may post today or in the next few days but we have all promised to post cards that we have missed the making along the way!  Come back in December to see what else I am behind on!

Happy Halloween

Today is the 15th and this is my card this month for our The Creative Crew!  We are a group of 7--Jeanette, Carol, Darlene, Lorraine, Terry, Tracie and me. Each month will be a new challenge posed by one of the members sending out a kit.  This month, Lorraine sent a sweet kit with the theme of Halloween with the Haunted Boo-levard from Taylored Expressions. She sent two different images, some die cut and some on panels along with sentiments.  Lorraine included some sweet Halloween patterned paper along with some additional die cuts.

I picked the vertical house image and colored it with my Copic Sketch Markers.  I die cut one of the sweet sentiments and a backer with a Taylored Expressions die set called Modern Label Sentiment dies. I placed the sentiment and backer on the bottom of the patterned paper and added the house to the "ground"  I added the die cut pumpkins by the door along with the bats and ghost along the eves.  This was a fun card to make.

I hope all of The Creative Crew Gals enjoy my card this month.  Please be sure to stop in to see what fun crafty cards are posted this month.  All of the blogs can be found on my left sidebar.  Our teammate Lorraine does not have a blog, so please check out her card in her SCS gallery.   I am sure you will enjoy all of the fun cards!

We will be back in November with another kit that Carol will provide for us.  Be sure to check in with us on the 15th to see what fun is planned!

Hot Mess Halloween

Today is the the 12th and it is time for another Hot Mess card. This card is #74, so we are into year #8. The idea of Hot Mess ~ Success is to Get Messy and you will have Success!  Messiness can be almost anything that we come up with--glitter, alcohol inks, glimmer glitz, sponged backgrounds, etc., anything that is a bit messy.  We are a very fun group and will post a card each month on the 12th.  The links to the other members are on my left side bar and I will also link them at the bottom at this post.

For my messiness this month, I decided to make a couple more Halloween cards.  This time I used a Taylored Expressions Stencil called Jack-o-Lantern with Simon Hurley-Ranger Lunar Paste in Guppy!  The Trick or Treat die is from Brass & Bliss. I made one white panel and panel from black. I used some orange glitter cardstock from The Paper Cut for the backer of the words on the black panel. I added Black Rhinestone Bits & Pieces on the white card and orange glitter drops on the black panel.

I really like the look of this card and hope you do too.  I also sure hope my fellow messy ladies like them too!  Here are the links to the other somewhat messy crafters: Darlene, Jeanette and TerryI am sure you will enjoy seeing how everyone got messy this month and was successful in making some great cards!   Be sure to check back to see what we are up in November!

Stamp Joy Swap Cards

Today I am posting the cards I made for the Taylored Expressions Stamp Joy card swap that is happening at the event in Des Moines.  I made 37 of these cards and all of the components are Taylored Expressions products. I hope to post more pictures from the events in the next week or so.

I decided to use one of the recent freebies--Mega Messages Die Trick or Treat--and make Halloween cards. I used the Spiderweb Foil It panels for the background and the negative foil made the black panel--a two-fer!  I die cut the words from Black Licorice along with the frame from Frame in Frame 3.   I die cut the backer from Orange Glitter Cardstock and then used the leftover piece for a panel behind the web.  I added some orange enamel dots around the words.

I hope you like my card.  And, I hope my Stamp Joy attendees who swap with me also like my card.  Stay tuned for a picture of the cards I received

Haunted Bats

I was on a roll this week with using stencils, so I decided to make a Halloween card using Simon Hurley Lunar Paste in Shady.  The stencil is from Carta Bella called Haunted Bats. I love the shine from Lunar Paste and I think this stencil is so fun!  The witch is a very old wood mounted stamp from Stampabilities called Flying Witch--one of my oldies but goodies!  I added some Taylored Expressions Purple Glitter Drops around the image

Thanks for stopping by today!  This card will be in the mail soon, on the way to make someone smile!

Let's Brew Up Some Fun

Today is the 9th and it is now time for another The Three Musketeers post. This round, Jeanette is the hostess and sent out this sweet image from CC Designs from the Witchy Way set. Jeanette also included the cute sentiment from the same set. For October, this is card #122 and we are now in year #11!  I cannot believe this trio has been going strong for 11 strong years!

I colored the witch image with my Copic Sketch Markers.  I picked out a very old Cuttlebug Embossing folder called Spiderweb and picked where I wanted the circle die cut.  I cut first, then ran the black panel through my Big Shot with my embossing folder.  The sentiment was backed with Gorgeous Grape and I added a flag.  I then added some Taylored Expressions Black Rhinestones around the image for a bit of glimmer.  I hope Jeanette and Kelly along with you enjoy my card!

Please check out the other Musketeer's cards.  Here is the link to Jeanette's blog along with Kelly's blog.  I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of cute cards!  Kelly is up for our November challenge and we will continue in our 11th year!  Please be sure to join us again.

Happy Howl-oween

Today is the 15th and this is my card this month for our The Creative Crew!  We are a group of 7--Jeanette, Carol, Darlene, Lorraine, Terry, Tracie and me. Each month will be a new challenge posed by one of the members sending out a kit. This month, I sent out a Halloween Kit! The image and sentiment is from Newton's Nook and is called Happy Howl-oween!  I sent some images die cut with the coordinating die as well as a couple on quarter sheets of cardstock.  I included some cute Halloween patterned paper along with a strip of candy corn ribbon.

I colored one of the die cut images with my Copic Sketch Markers.  I added some highlights with white gel pen. I used three of the Halloween papers for the background and strips--one is the front and back side.  I punched out the sentiment and backer with my Stampin' Up circle punches. I added some black enamel dots with a bit of sparkle! The strip of ribbon is on the inside of my card.  This was a very fun card to make!

I am sure you will enjoy all of the fun grilling cards and see what my teammates like on the grill!

Newton's Candy Corn

Today is the 9th and it is now time for another The Three Musketeers post. This round, I am the hostess and sent out this sweet image from Newton's Nook called Candy Corn.  I sent a few images that I die cut with the coordinating die and also sent the image stamped on a quarter cardstock sheet--options!   I also included a couple sentiment from the same set, so there would be more options.  Now for September, this is card #121 and we are now starting year #11!  I cannot believe this trio has been going strong for 11 strong years!

I colored one of the die cut Newton images with my Copic Sketch Markers. I also colored a few of the candy corn pieces.  I die cut a piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock with a Gina Marie Designs Cross Stitched Oval.  I added some foam tape behind Newton and the corn piece and placed them on the oval.  I then die cut a piece of Halloween patterned paper for the background with my Gina K Designs Master Layouts 2 and added a black layer behind.  The Granny Apple Layer was embossed with my Stampin' Up Subtle folder for a bit of texture.  The sentiment was punched with a circle punch and added to a Granny Apple layer.  I added a strip of black glitter paper behind the oval for a bit of glimmer.  I hope Jeanette and Kelly along with you enjoy my card!

Please check out the other Musketeer's cards.  Here is the link to Jeanette's blog along with Kelly's blog.  I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of cute cards!  Jeanette is up for our October challenge and we will continue in our 11th year!  Please be sure to join us again.

Ghost Couple

Today is the day I am posting my card for our Challenge Your Stash group on SCS.  This is our 82nd month of de-stash, so we are coming to the end of our 7th year of challenges.  I cannot believe my thought about using what we have is now 6+ years old!   I really like these challenges and know they will continue as I know I have many, many items in my stash that I can use and love the fun challenges!

The premise is to create a card or something else that uses only items that are in your own stamp room--nothing new is to be purchased.  The hostess each month posts their challenge to the group. Each person in the group creates their card with their own image, their own papers, their own embellishments with their own supplies--using up items from their own stash!  The card can be for any occasion and each person is encouraged to send the card on its way to someone so it can be admired.  It is a way for us to step out of the box a bit and create something that follows a challenge--isn't that what a challenge is supposed to be.  And--no money is spent as all items are to be already available in each of own stamping spaces.

Suzy posted our October challenge--Make a Halloween card with a moon as a part of the card.

I love Halloween cards and making them too!  I picked a very old stamp from  company no longer in business--Outline Rubber Stamp company.  It is called Ghost Couple and I think it is so cute!  I stamped the image and colored it with my Copic Sketch Markers.  I die cut the image and backer with my Gina Marie Designs Stitched Rectangle dies.  I then picked a fun sentiment from a Raisin Boat set called Canines in Costume--another company no longer in business. I used a pair of Taylored Expressions dies from the Modern Sentiment Labels--the backer die is from the new set that I got at Stamp Joy that is not released it.  The background is a Tim Holtz Brickwork 3D Textured Fade Embossing Folder in Basic Gray.  I added a few orange bling dots for a bit of sparkle!

If you check some of the blogs on my sidebar, you may find others who have posted their cards in the next few days. There may be more posted in the thread on SCS, so you might want to check out the link here.  We also have a keyword for the SCS Gallery--it is CYSOCT.  You might see many cards there if you do a search.  They probably will be posted today or in the next few days.

I hope you enjoyed my card and I know I am excited to check out what my other hoarders, I mean stash reducers have made!  Thanks for stopping by today!  For November, Vicki is up for our challenge.  Be sure to check back to see what we create then!

Introducing the Catch Up Club

Today is the last day of November and I am posting a card for a new challenge--Catch-up Club!  A few of my SCS and stamping friends, Darlene, Jeanette and Terry along with myself, have signed up for a number of virtual stamping events in the past 2 1/2 years. During the last event, we decided we needed to push ourselves (and each other) to get some of these events done!  Especially before we sign up or even participate in the next one from the same company!  So--we all decided to devote one day a month, the last day of the month for the procrastinators that we are, to post cards we missed making.  They could be from a virtual event or maybe another challenge that was missed.   So--here we are--The Catch Up Club!

These cards are from the virtual event sponsored by Sarah and The Paper Cut in Appleton called Cards, Cards, Cards!  The original date of the class was September 23rd, so I am 2 months late!

I received the kits for all 10 of these cards, along with 2 other classes of cards that I was able to complete during the weeknights.  But, I could not do the Cards, Cards, Cards on Friday night as we had an event at church.  Sarah is an awesome teacher and I loved all of the cards.  There were circle cards, slider cards, stairstep cards, bib cards and ones using alcohol inks.  We had Christmas cards, Halloween, sympathy, birthday and general themes.  I love the variety of the cards and they are so fun and colorful!

Sarah offers many different kinds of classes through the year and kits can be ordered from their website.  This class is done every fall and also is an in-person class in Appleton at their warehouse the weekend before.  I have done the class in person in the past, but could not this year as I was at a retreat that weekend. I appreciate the ability to do this virtual event!

I hope you enjoyed my cards!  Here are the links to the other of the Catch Up Club.  Please be sure to check out Jeanette's, Terry's, and Darlene's blogs.  They may post today or tomorrow, but we have all promised to post cards that was have missed the making along the way!

Witching You!

Happy Halloween!

I looked for a fun Halloween stamp set and picked Taylored Expressions Millie's Haunted Halloween.  I have had this set for awhile and I do not think it has been inked. I thought it might be a fun slimline card and picked a cardstock frame from The Paper Cut.  I colored the 3 images with my Copic Sketch Markers and die cut them with their coordinating dies. I added a couple of pieces of patterned paper from the Kaiser Crafts 13th Hour 6x6 paper pack.  The fun sentiment is from the same stamp set.  The black glitter enamel dots are the final touch!

I hope you enjoyed my card and that you also have a very Happy Halloween--full of treats and no tricks!

Halloween Cat

Today is the day I am posting my card for our Challenge Your Stash group on SCS.  This is our 70th month of de-stash, so we are getting to the end of our 6th year of challenges. I really like these challenges and know they will continue as I know I have many, many items in my stash that I can use and love the fun challenges!

The premise is to create a card or something else that uses only items that are in your own stamp room--nothing new is to be purchased.  The hostess each month posts their challenge to the group. Suzy posted our October challenge--October 29 is National Cat Day. Make a card that has at least one cat on it. The "purr-fect" time to make a Halloween card!

I picked a very sweet Whipper Snapper Designs stamp called Gilley.  I love this image and it is perfect for Halloween and Suzy's challenge!  I colored the image with my Copic Sketch Markers and die cut it along with a black layer with Gina Marie Designs Stitched Rounded Square dies.  The spider-web background paper is from Reminisce Such a Treat line.  I added a tag of  some Halloween striped paper and a pumpkin brad.  The black glitter enamel dots are the final touch!

Here is the inside of my card with a strip of the patterned paper:
