I'm thrilled to announce the official opening of Sun Life’s office in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). This expansion marks a significant milestone in our global growth strategy, positioning Sun Life as a leading High Net Worth (HNW) and Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) provider in the MENA region. Our new Category 4 licensed DIFC office is regulated by the DFSA and will focus on HNW/UHNW business development and support licensed intermediaries and banks across DIFC, Dubai, UAE, and MENA. We're also committed to enhancing local partnerships. I'm delighted to welcome Sameera Anand as our Senior Executive Officer, who will lead our operations in this dynamic market. Sameera's expertise will be instrumental in driving our expansion and delivering exceptional value to our clients. This strategic move reinforces our commitment to serving the evolving needs of HNW/UHNW clients in the region. We are deeply saddened by the tragic fire and loss of life at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po and we extend our heartfelt condolences to all affected residents and their families. To support fire relief and recovery efforts in the community, we’re committing HK$10 million to provide emergency aid, temporary shelter and essential resources to impacted residents. We've activated emergency response measures to assist impacted Clients. A dedicated emergency hotline 852-2103 8686 is available, and our frontline financial advisors are providing immediate assistance. We are also prioritizing claims for all affected Clients with a dedicated claims team ready to ensure they receive the help they need as quickly as possible. In this moment of loss we stand with everyone affected and will continue to support our Clients and community to rebuild and heal in the days ahead.

Our latest Sun Life Asia survey reveals that nearly three in four family businesses across Asia are underprepared for succession. While many owners want to establish legacy plans, only 27% currently have them in. A growing generation gap is also threatening the future of Asia’s family enterprises - only 40% of those active in their family business believe the next generation are willing to take over, while only 31% of those not involved are willing to them take over. This highlights the need for families to invest in thoughtful succession planning as not only does it secure the business - it also preserves family harmony, strengthens relationships, and ensures that legacies built over decades can continue to thrive for generations.
