To avoid product damage and the chance of skin irritation, remove your watch when you apply sun cream, repellent sprays or other types of creams or sprays.
Important:
- Do not clean the Pixel Watch while it is charging.
- Do not dry the Pixel Watch with external heat sources like hot plates or hair dryers.
- Do not dry or clean the Pixel Watch with compressed air or ultrasonic cleaning.
- Google Pixel Watch doesn't have a physical reset button. Do not insert any items, such as paper clips, into the mic hole on the side of the Pixel Watch or the charging pins on the back of Pixel Watch 2 and 3, as this can cause damage.
- Do not put foreign objects into the Quick Charge Dock of the Pixel Watch 4.
Clean the Google Pixel Watch
When caring for your Google Pixel Watch, it's important that you only use fresh water and a soap-free cleanser to clean the band to avoid damage.
Do not use the following when cleaning your Pixel Watch and band:
- Hand soap
- Body soap
- Washing-up liquid
- Hand sanitisers
- Cleaning wipes
- Household cleaners
- Other similar cleaning products
Check for some ways to clean your Pixel Watch and Pixel Watch Bands below.
Disconnect your bands before thoroughly cleaning your Pixel Watch or watch bands. Make sure that you wipe your Pixel Watch dry before reconnecting the bands.
- Turn off your Pixel Watch and remove it from the charger.
- If you have a leather band, remove it from your Pixel Watch.
- Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to gently clean the Pixel Watch.
- If necessary, lightly dampen a lint-free cloth with fresh water to gently remove built-up material or scuff marks. To avoid damage, make sure that no moisture gets into any openings.
- Dry your Pixel Watch with a non-abrasive, lint-free cloth.
Tip: Clean your watch regularly to help it charge better. This also prevents dirt build-up on the charging pins (Pixel Watch 2 and 3 only).
Some accessory bands like those made of leather and metal materials are only intended to be worn during normal daily activity, not during high-intensity workouts.

Materials in the Google Pixel Watch
The Google Pixel Watch is water and dust resistant and has scratch-resistant custom 3D Corning® Gorilla® Glass designed to withstand the pressure of up to 50 metres (5 ATM) of water.1 These features help to protect your watch from inclement weather and everyday wear. Some Google Pixel Watch Bands aren't water resistant.
Google Pixel Watch can withstand some rain, shallow pools and sweat from exercise, but it shouldn't be immersed in water for more than 24 hours, used during high-speed or high-impact water sports or exposed to soapy water or other liquids.
Tip: Pixel Watch is designed to recognise when it's submerged in water and automatically lock the screen to prevent accidental input.
Google Pixel Watch and metal bands adhere to rigorous design specifications and meet extensive test requirements. These tests minimise the potential for reaction, but Google Pixel Watch and metal bands may contain materials that users with skin sensitivities should be aware of:
- Nickel
- The amount of potential nickel falls below the strict nickel restrictions set by the European REACH regulation.
- While nickel exposure is unlikely to cause a reaction, be aware of the possibility in case you're susceptible to nickel-related reactions.
- Acrylates
- Potential trace amounts of acrylates and methacrylates from adhesives or coatings.
- While these are found in many consumer products that come into contact with the skin, some people may be sensitive to them.
Tip: For watches with metal bands, compass readings may not be accurate. The use of a Metal Mesh Band or Metal Slim Band watch accessory with Pixel Watch is incompatible with the ECG app. All bands work for ECG readings on Pixel Watch 2, 3 and 4.
1 1 Google Pixel Watch is designed to comply with a water protection rating of IP68 under IEC standard 60529 and a rating of 5 ATM under ISO standard 22810:2010, with a dust- and water-protection rating IP68 under IEC standard 60529 when each device leaves the factory, but it is not waterproof or dustproof. Water resistance and dust resistance are not permanent conditions and will diminish or be lost over time due to normal wear and tear, repair, disassembly or damage. The Google Pixel Watch is not drop/impact-proof and dropping your device may result in a loss of water and dust resistance. Damage from drops, impacts and other external forces are not covered under warranty. The Google Pixel Watch has been designed to be used in shallow water and should not be used for activities involving water at high velocity or high temperature. Some Google Pixel Watch Bands are not water resistant. Go to g.co/pixelwatch/water for details. After any exposure to liquid, we recommend drying the watch and band because, as with any wearable device, it's best for your skin if the band is clean and dry.
