A fresh alternative to baked goodies, these bars are naturally sweet and chewy, a perfect dessert when you’re looking for something light and healthy.

Without the frosting, they also make a great take-along energy bar.

On the left, vegan macaroons: chewy, intensely coconut, these macaroons will rival any you may have had filled with eggs and sugar.  According to one Bake It Healthy customer, these “are the best I’ve ever tasted!”  On the right, cashew chocolate chip cookies: a shortbread-like base studded with dairy free chocolate chips.  For the second recipe, see the original post  here.

These bars are a snap to make, and provide an excellent source of protein and calcium.  They’re chewy, sweet and tart, and provide enough nutrition to grab as breakfast on the go.  They’re also a great energy bar to take along for an afternoon pick-me-up! Check the original post and recipe here.

Mock Chocolate Pudding

February 22, 2009

Thick and rich, with a texture remarkably like its dairy counterpart, this mock chocolate pudding is sure to please.

Unlike the dairy version, however, this contains no sugar, no cornstarch, and no cholesterol.  How about a second serving?

Cocoa Nibbles (LaRaw Bars)

December 19, 2008

Just like the raw date-and-nut bars you buy in the health food store, only fresher and tastier!

Marbled Halvah

August 8, 2008

This high-calcium treat is common in Middle Eastern kitchens.  Made mostly of tahini (sesame paste), this is a great high-energy snack! I’ve created a version here with a chocolate swirl, but you can also leave it plain, or add chopped pistachios or dried fruits if you prefer.
