art projects

☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺ Stefan Gross creates work that plays on the ewwwwwww factor which resides within us (if it's not inside you, you're only lying to yourself). His work is all rather bodily with goopy amounts of polymer and oil in brightly chosen colours that are plopped on recognizable objects for visual reference....& then perhaps covered in clumps of hair to further the bleghhhhh vibe. Saying so, that ick feeling felt from viewing his work just kind of makes you remember being a kid. Playing in mud. Tracking said mud into the house. Rubbing your muddy hands and feet all over your mum's fancy coat. Petting the dog with your grubby muddy paws. Getting spanked. Playful & sinister all at once. Nothing at all serious, just lighthearted and deliciously (queasily) shiny. http://www.stefangross.nl/index.html ☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺

yummo

haven’t been using this very often, but it’s high time for  change. i’ll start off again with some prints i made for an alternative print class this semester at ECIAD in rain-city Vancouver. premises of the project body parts. my part, the tongue. perrrfect.

i have a nice little collection of art mags and as i like working with found images i made some stencils, stipled them on either fabric or paper, sewed it onto the found images, played with compostion, had a party.

mock-ups can either be extremely better than the end result or way worse. I’d like to think that because my background photo is entirely horrid my end result will be better. hopefully you’ve caught on and realized this image is indeed a mock-up for one of my projects called Urban Intervention. We’re supposed to choose a specific spot on Granville Island and find some sort of image or text we find conceptual, considering the given location.
