Circus coming to your place!
Once upon a time, only yesterday, Bonnie the Cockatoo got an idea from a cocky elder, whose ancestors had perched on power poles watching the famous Wirth’s Circus. The said Cocky passed on a thrilling story about the excitement when this prestigious circus came to town.
Wirth’s Circus was Australia’s largest circus company. For 80 years Wirth’s was billed as Australia’s own ‘Greatest Show on Earth’, and was a huge travelling circus with an international reputation.
George Wirth was universally acknowledged as the greatest all-round circus performers in the world.”He was able to do an entire performance of two and a half hours alone, and was able in all to do 23 acts, viz:- Polandric Ladder, Balancing on his Head, Contortionist, Clubs, Tumbling, Acrobats, Horizontal Bars, Single Trapeze, Rings, Somersault Act on Horse, Jockey Act, Seven Horse Act, Two Horse Carrying Act, One Horse Carrying Act, Leaps, Indian on Horse, Perch, Bob Walker, Bar Act, Two Horse Hurdle Act and Three Clown Entrees.
Now Bonnie is a creative thinker and she decided she could take to the road, establish a circus of her own, be a Ring Mistress. and get into the Guinness Book of Records by outdoing George Wirth.
The Bush Telegraph went completely wild and word spread like a wild bush fire on a blistering Australian summers day. Bonnie’s idea was an immediate hit, with all sorts of animals and birds making their way to her big tent, literally queueing, desperate to be considered for a role.
Here you can see Bonnie in full Ring Mistress regalia and catch a glimpse of her, not only refining some of her motor skills, but volunteering to be a part of a knife throwing act. Goes without saying that this could go badly. All very ten of swords!
The Dingoes are singing, much to the amusement of some Koalas, a Tree Kangaroo is offering to be a high wire performer, Kanga’s are working out in a boxing ring and the Possum Twins are perfecting their Hanged Possum presentation under a Taurus New Moon.
Seriously! It is all happening!
