Writing for The Times, actor James Norton reflects on his journey to Uganda to track mountain gorillas in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, describing an experience that is both humbling and deeply moving. As we approach the end of the year, we wanted to thank our incredible team, industry colleagues and travel partners around the world for an extraordinary year at AKTG (Abercrombie & Kent Travel Group). 2025 has been a year of remarkable growth across our portfolio. At Abercrombie & Kent, we launched transformative partnerships including Curated Escapes with Condé Nast Traveler, celebrated 35 years of expedition cruising, and expanded our product ranges worldwide. Abercrombie & Kent Destination Management welcomed new DMCs in The Nordics, Mexico and Bolivia. Crystal Cruises returned to the number one position in Travel + Leisure Co.'s World's Best Awards for mid-size luxury ocean ships, continuing nearly three decades of recognition. In November, we announced Crystal Grace, our first new ocean ship in 25 years, scheduled for delivery in May 2028. Our A&K Sanctuary portfolio expanded significantly, with Gorilla Forest Lodge in Uganda, Pure Amazon riverboat in Peru, and Baines' Lodge in Botswana all welcoming guests in 2025, demonstrating our commitment to conservation and authentic experiences. Abercrombie & Kent Philanthropy (AKP) launched its impact report, reporting a record-breaking year with £2.1 million in charitable support, a 17% increase. We directly benefited 400,000 people across 25 countries, feeding more than 6,300 children daily through school lunch programmes in East Africa, drilling 90 water wells in Siem Reap, and delivering 1,667 bikes to women entrepreneurs in Uganda and Zambia.
