Sally French, founder of The Drone Girl, spotlights cutting-edge drone tech inside the new Antigravity A1 in her latest article on the Antigravity A1 drone, powered by Ambarella Inc CV5 AI chips. Amid the FCC's ban on foreign drones, her deep dive reveals how this sub-250g 8K 360° powerhouse stitches fisheye feeds in real-time for "fly first, frame later" workflows - perfect for CES 2026 buzz. Why It Stands Out: Her interview with Ambarella's Jerome Gigot unpacks the CV5's edge AI magic: low-power stitching, 8K video processing, and scene analysis without cloud reliance, delivering 24-39 min flights. No FAA registration needed for fun, and it's live now at Antigravity or B&H. Check it out: https://lnkd.in/etpMigYc #Drones #Ambarella #CES2026 #DroneGirl

A Platform- and Ecosystem-Led Approach to Scaling Edge AI The edge AI market is maturing—and the next phase of growth will be driven by ecosystems, not isolated point solutions. Ambarella Inc is intentionally evolving its market strategy to enable partners across the value chain—ISVs, system integrators, developers, and distributors—to build, deploy, and scale differentiated edge AI solutions with greater speed, predictability, and commercial leverage. At the center of this shift is Ambarella’s Developer Zone (DevZone). Launched for early access during #CES2026, DevZone is an enablement platform designed to reduce friction across evaluation, development, integration, and deployment. It brings together optimized models, design resources, and low-code/no-code agentic blueprints that partners can leverage across customers, verticals, and routes to market. Why this matters for the partner ecosystem: • ISVs can productize and scale solutions faster, moving beyond bespoke deployments • SIs can standardize delivery, reduce integration risk, and improve margin predictability • Developers gain earlier access to optimized tools and workflows to accelerate innovation • Distributors can support repeatable, solution-oriented offerings that simplify adoption and accelerate time to revenue Edge AI adoption will be won by those who can combine innovation with operational scale. This ecosystem-first approach is designed to align technical capability with real-world commercialization—across retail, transportation, industrial, smart cities, and beyond. We look forward to working with partners who are building for scale and shaping the next generation of edge intelligence, together.
Ambarella Inc has changed its go-to-market strategy as it embraces the edge AI ecosystem, particularly ISVs (the company previously supported big customers almost exclusively, with no resellers and no channel). Thanks to Muneyb Minhazuddin for explaining the change in strategy to me and Jerome Gigot for the details on the new CV7 silicon: https://lnkd.in/eubvJfWC

We’re in the midst of an exciting #CES2026 for Ambarella! We’ve met with an incredible group of journalists and analysts - including Sophia Tung of Ride AI (San Francisco), Sabbir Rangwala of Forbes, Dave McQuilling of The Manual, Maura Bennett of Scripps, Adam Bernard of Auto Perspectives, William Wong of Electronic Design , Mark Yee and Jim Chien of DIGITIMES Asia, and Alexandre Légendre of AFP - to explore our latest breakthroughs in automotive AI and AIoT. Together, we discussed how Ambarella’s newest innovations are redefining what’s possible in intelligent vehicles - from next-generation LLMs/VLMs that power in-vehicle intelligence, to automated annotation pipelines accelerating autonomous driving, to our evolving fleet capabilities. And yes - we even hit the streets of Las Vegas for live test drives in our 4D imaging radar–equipped demo car. We also showcased how Ambarella’s products power a wide range of edge AI and human vision applications - from video security and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) to electronic mirrors, telematics, driver and cabin monitoring, autonomous driving, edge infrastructure, drones, and robotics. Our low-power systems-on-chip (SoCs) deliver high-resolution video compression, advanced image and radar processing, and deep neural network performance, enabling intelligent perception, sensor fusion, and decision-making at the edge. #Ambarella #AI #EdgeAI #Automotive #AutonomousVehicles #CES2026 #PhysicalAI #LLM #VLM #VLA #AIoT

By Bob Kunz, Chief Architect at Ambarella Inc Am I an AI architect or an environmental scientist? It’s a funny framing question — but at today’s power curves, it’s not optional. AI compute is scaling exponentially, doubling on the order of months. Global power generation, even with massive investment in cleaner and more abundant energy, grows only a few percent per year. Those curves simply don’t match. As modern AI scales, the math is cheap. What dominates power is moving data. A multiply-accumulate on chip costs on the order of a picojoule. Move that same data off-chip — across memory interfaces or high-speed networks — and you’re quickly at 10–50× higher energy cost. Once data movement dominates, architecture determines what’s viable. Efficiency stops being an optimization and becomes a requirement. That’s why the edge matters. Moving intelligence closer to where devices perceive and act eliminates enormous waste from data movement, over-provisioning, and infrastructure overhead. If edge architectures can deliver the same intelligence at even half the system power, that doesn’t just change what’s deployable — it changes the energy trajectory of AI itself. This leads directly to how we think about architecture. Constraints matter, but constraints alone don’t define good architecture. Balance does. Real products force tradeoffs between compute, memory bandwidth, latency, power, flexibility, and cost. Over-optimize any single dimension and the imbalance shows up immediately: great benchmarks, poor utilization, or systems that fail under real workloads. In real-time perception systems, miss a frame and you miss the shot. That’s why system-level design matters. A standalone accelerator optimizes one block and leaves balance to someone else. A SoC forces you to solve the hard problem: managing shared resources — especially memory — across heterogeneous workloads with very different access patterns and latency needs. When that balance is right, the result is both technically elegant and commercially compelling. Finally, flexibility. Flexibility isn’t free — especially at the edge. The real challenge is where to pay for it. If power and cost are no object, you scale everything and optimize for peak benchmarks. At the edge, that logic breaks. Flexibility has to be deliberate. Our approach is flexibility at the architectural family level, not inside every chip. We build a common foundation that can scale up or down into SoCs with specific balance points — and we can turn those into real silicon quickly. Each chip is well balanced for its market; flexibility lives across the portfolio. That approach is why our architecture has adapted as workloads evolved — including the rapid shift toward LLMs — without starting over. We learn from real deployments, identify where efficiency is already strong and where refinement pays off, and carry those insights directly into the next generation.
