Banker Steel team members had the privilege of attending the National D-Day Memorial’s annual Veterans Day observance ceremony today where a newly constructed shelter that will protect the Memorial’s authentic 1944 “Higgins boat” was dedicated. Banker Steel had the honor of donating the steel used to form the shelter that will house the WWII- era vessel. The “Higgins boat” is emblematic of the lightweight craft with a drop-down ramp that ferried many of the 150,000+ ground troops under cover of darkness to the shores of Normandy on June 6, 1944. As this exhibit is dedicated today, we pause in gratitude for all who have served to protect our freedom. #VeteransDay #DDayMemorial #HonorAndRemember

We are continuing to make progress on the new Brooklyn Facility for NYC Borough-Based Jails. With two NYC Constructors tower cranes both running, we are now erecting levels 8 and 9 of this 15-story structure at 275 Atlantic Ave. Banker Steel is fabricating and NYC Constructors is erecting 11,500 tons of structural steel for the design build project. Last week Banker Steel and NYC Constructors took part in a panel discussion, "Building 270 Park Avenue," sponsored by the American Institute of Steel Construction and hosted by Brickworks Design Studio as part of the 2025 Open House New York Weekend .   Our team, along with Engineer of Record Severud Associates and Tishman Speyer enjoyed sharing about how the JPMorgan Chase Headquarters at 270 Park Avenue was built. Gwyneth Leech offered a unique perspective as an artist who captured the various stages of the project throughout its construction. Construction at the John Glenn Columbus International Airport New Terminal in Columbus, Ohio, is progressing steadily, with steel continuously feeding two cranes. Field erection of the 20,000 tons of structural steel began in early August for the 1,000,000-square-foot facility that will replace the existing terminal. Banker Steel served as the project’s preconstruction partner and is now supplying the fabricated steel, which our erection partner, Columbus Steel Erectors, is installing. This week a few of our team members and trade partners at NYC Ironworkers Local 40 and Operating Engineers Local 14 had the privilege of attending Contractor Appreciation Day hosted by JPMorganChase at 270 Park Avenue, their new global headquarters. The event was marked by a BBQ celebration led by Jamie Dimon, honoring the thousands of construction workers who helped build the 60-story supertall. Banker Steel fabricated and NYC Constructors erected a total of 95,000 tons of structural steel for this engineering marvel.
