Most Fortune 500 companies are self-insured. Why? Because self-insurance gives employers greater control, data transparency, and lower fixed costs. In the past, midsize employers have been slower to adopt self-funding because they didn’t have the scale to absorb the volatility of large claims. Self-funding with a ParetoHealth captive levels the playing field. ParetoHealth gives midsize employers all the advantages of self-funding while adding the stability of a powerful community that lowers volatility and protects against large claims. Check out our latest article to learn how employee benefits captives are redefining self-funding for midsize employers. 👉 Read the article: https://lnkd.in/ekupQxRa #SelfFunding #EmployeeBenefitsCaptives #MidsizeEmployers #ParetoHealth

For most employers, healthcare is the second-largest expense after payroll. Yet fully insured health plans keep employers stuck managing this investment one year at a time. 👉 For a 150-employee company, healthcare typically exceeds $2 million per year. 👉 With annual medical trend currently at 9.5%, that’s $33 million spent on healthcare over the next decade. If this were any other $33 million line item, leaders would ask: 🔹 What can I do to lower this spend? 🔹 How do I get more value for every dollar I’m spending? Addressing these questions requires moving beyond year-to-year health plan renewals and adopting a multiyear benefits strategy to take control of healthcare costs and maximize the value of benefits for employees. Learn what a multiyear benefits strategy looks like in practice. Read the full article👇 https://lnkd.in/eVSpastG

Business Group on Health’s (BGH) latest trends report signals that 2026 may be one of the toughest years yet for healthcare affordability. As the leading nonprofit representing employers on workforce strategy and healthcare, BGH brings critical insight into the challenges ahead. According to BGH, employers must be “willing to disrupt the current benefits approach to drive improved accountability and outcomes.” The message is clear: employers and their consultants need to rethink the status quo. A challenging landscape, yes. But also an opportunity to reset the healthcare cost trajectory and build a strategy that reduces volatility and maximizes the value of benefits for employees. Worth a read for employers and consultants preparing for 2026. 👇 https://lnkd.in/e854gH56 #HealthcareAffordability #EmployeeBenefits #2026Trends

27,000 a Year for Health Insurance: A Wake-Up Call https://lnkd.in/eU5wA8Cj At the ParetoHealth Members’ Meetings this year, we had the privilege of hosting Zack Cooper, whose work consistently clarifies what’s truly driving America’s healthcare affordability crisis. Zack's latest New York Times piece, “$27,000 a Year for Health Insurance. How Can We Afford That?”, is a must-read. He lays out what employers and families feel every day: skyrocketing healthcare spending is eroding wages, straining businesses, and widening inequality. At ParetoHealth, we see firsthand how unsustainable costs threaten employers and employees alike. That’s why we’re committed to giving midsize employers: - Unmatched scale - Volatility protection - Cost containment levers - Data transparency - A powerful community Grateful to Zack for continuing to push this conversation forward. Highly recommend giving this article a read.

What can healthcare learn from the NFL? More than you might think. The NFL uses unified data across all 32 teams, tracking everything from helmets to GPS movement, to prevent injuries and improve healthcare outcomes. That’s the power of data transparency and scale. At ParetoHealth, we’re bringing that same level of insight to midsize employers. We don’t just collect data. We turn it into action. Through the Pareto Risk Shield, our Savings Engine, and a like-minded community that shares best practices, we help employers make data-informed decisions to take control of healthcare costs and maximize the value of benefits for employees. Because better outcomes start with scale and they're fueled by data transparency. This mindset drives the ParetoHealth community. And it’s why our community grows stronger every day. 👉 Read the article: https://lnkd.in/gtqqvD6E #RightSideoftheFight #NFL #FlyEaglesFly #GoBirds 🦅
