KOAM is seeking a passionate and energetic Morning and Noon News Anchor to join our team. As the face of our morning and midday newscasts, you will play a key role in delivering news that informs, engages, and empowers our viewers across broadcast, social, streaming, and digital platforms. The ideal candidate is a creative storyteller, social media enthusiast, and polished anchor who brings urgency and authority to every newscast—especially during breaking news. You will take an active role in newsgathering, reporting, and station promotions, helping to maintain KOAM’s reputation as the news, weather, and sports leader in the 4-States area.

KOAM is the local news, weather, and sports leader in the 4-States area (Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Missouri). KOAM is owned by Morgan Murphy Media, family-owned and operated since its founding in 1890. Morgan Murphy Media operates television and radio stations, a print magazine, websites, mobile and streaming apps, and a digital marketing agency, across its 11 locations. Key Responsibilities
Anchor morning and noon newscasts and actively participate in daily newsgathering
Report, write, and deliver stories in a clear and concise manner
Respond to breaking news and urgent newsroom situations as required
Write stories for the website and digital platforms, and engage with viewers on social media in a professional manner
Participate in station promotional activities and special news programming
Qualifications
Polished anchor/reporter with an energetic personality and creative storytelling skills
Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to ad lib as needed
Strong news judgment, ethics, and editorial control
Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
