As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will support our Electrothermal Engineering team in a mixed design and production environment, delivering premier space flight projects. This role allows you to create and manage flight-critical hardware designs from initial concept to production. You will work in a highly collaborative team while also providing innovative solutions for advancing space technologies. How you will make an impact:
Design flight-critical hardware for space propulsion systems
Present and defend design choices and trade-offs to meet mission and project requirements
Perform thermal modeling and analysis to ensure optimal system performance under extreme conditions
Collaborate with engineers, researchers, and manufacturers across multidisciplinary teams
Communicate with outside vendors for part fabrication and procurement
Create high-quality engineering drawings and documentation to support production and testing
Ensure designs comply with industry standards, project requirements, and reliability objectives
Produce and maintain essential documentation for spaceflight hardware
Desired skills:
Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
Hands-on experience in fabrication, assembly, or testing of mechanical systems
Proficiency with SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM (or similar revision control systems)
Strong working knowledge of ASME Y14.5 and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
Experience in aerospace manufacturing processes such as precision welding, brazing, plating, heat treating, or finishing
Background in thermal modeling and simulation
FEA experience, preferably with ANSYS Mechanical
Familiarity with MATLAB for data analysis and simulation
The expected salary range for this position is $110,000 - $150,000. Actual compensation will be determined by the candidate’s experience, education, and alignment with organizational needs.
