Good nutrition is the foundation of healthy development. It fuels learning, strengthens immunity, and enables children and young people to participate fully in education and skills programmes. This year, we served 2 million meals across our centres, an important milestone in supporting holistic youth development. A sincere thank you to our nutrition partner, KFC Africa for supporting us in making every plate possible and for fighting food insecurity one meal at a time. #AfrikaTikkun #YouthDevelopment #FoodSecurity #HolisticDevelopment #SocialImpact #KFCSouthAfrica

Afrika Tikkun is ranked as the second most reputable nonprofit organisation in South Africa, as reported in the Trialogue Business in Society Handbook 2025. This ranking highlights the confidence placed in our work by partners, donors, communities, and the young people we serve through our Cradle-to-Career model. As the nonprofit sector continues to face a challenging funding landscape, this recognition underscores the importance of sustaining meaningful, measurable impact and expanding opportunities for South Africa’s youth. We acknowledge the ongoing contribution of our partners, staff, and supporters in helping uphold this standard of work. #AfrikaTikkun #NonprofitSouthAfrica #YouthDevelopment #CradleToCareer #SocialImpact

Afrika Tikkun and MTN SA Foundation empower youth in Diepsloot through a newly launched Digital Skills Hub. The hub is equipped with 55 upgraded digital workstations and serves as a central training site for the MTN Skills Academy. Young people now have access to programmes in digital literacy, coding, website development, data analytics, digital marketing and essential workplace skills. This collaboration highlights the power of partnership in expanding access to opportunity and preparing youth for a rapidly evolving digital economy. Afrika Tikkun and the MTN SA Foundation are strengthening access to digital opportunity for Diepsloot youth. The Digital Skills Hub will enable this kind of impact by equipping our youth with skills and guiding them toward opportunities that might otherwise have been out of reach. #AfrikaTikkun #MTN #DigitalSkills #YouthEmpowerment #Diepsloot #Partnership

We are proud to celebrate 52 incredible young people from our Johannesburg centres who have successfully completed the Gold Level of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, also known as the Presidential Award for Youth Empowerment. The Gold Level represents the highest achievement in the programme. It requires 12 to 18 months of commitment and dedication to personal development. Our young people completed the full journey, which included Voluntary Service, Skills Development, Physical Recreation, an Adventurous Journey and a Gold Residential Project. Their achievement reflects exceptional focus, maturity and commitment. It shows what young people can accomplish when they invest in their own growth and take on meaningful challenges. For our youth, this accomplishment open new opportunities and strengthen their confidence as they continue to lead with purpose. We look forward to seeing the impact they will make as they build on the determination that brought them this far. #YouthEmpowerment #DukeOfEdinburghAward #YouthLeadership #EmpoweredYouth #CradletoCareer #Afrikatikkun

Synthesis Software Technologies has once again shown remarkable generosity and commitment to our young learners. Children at our Uthando Centre received essential school bags and brand-new school shoes, ensuring every Grade R learner has the basics they need in their back-to-school packs to step confidently into Grade 1 in 2026. To honour the dedication and hard work of our Bambanani teachers, Synthesis also gifted each practitioner a thoughtful Christmas hamper. This meaningful gesture highlights the importance of giving young children the right tools for a strong start to their schooling journey and reflects Synthesis’s ongoing support for early childhood development through its long-standing partnership with Afrika Tikkun. #AfrikaTikkun #Synthesis #EarlyChildhoodDevelopment #Bambanani #GradeR #BackToSchool #PartnersInImpact

This week until the 9th of December, your generosity goes twice as far. Afrika Tikkun UK is taking part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge, where every donation made through BigGive.org is matched £1 for £1, doubling your impact for South Africa’s youth. This year, your support helps us fund Call Centre Training in South Africa, giving young people the skills, confidence, and opportunities they need to step into meaningful employment. And we’re honoured to be backed by our 2025 Champion, The Reed Foundation, whose longstanding commitment to social impact makes this match possible. Give once. Change twice. Donate between 2–9 December and help us open new doors for South Africa’s next generation. International Day of Persons with Disabilities Afrika Tikkun is honoured to have been invited to the Valuable 500 Sync25 Summit, a groundbreaking platform that brings together global CEOs and leaders from organisations such as Procter & Gamble, AT Kearney, Accenture and Sanofi. Born out of the World Economic Forum, the Valuable 500 is advancing conscious and systemic inclusion across businesses, from workforce representation to customer and stakeholder engagement. Two powerful themes stood out today: 1. “Nothing about us, without us.” True inclusion requires the meaningful participation of people with disabilities in all planning and decision-making. 2. Employment is the engine of mind-set change. When people with disabilities participate fully in the economy as contributors, creators and taxpayers, stereotypes fall away. At Afrika Tikkun, disability inclusion has long been central to our Cradle-to-Career vision, and it is encouraging to see this recognised as pioneering. South Africa’s BBBEE codes further reinforce this imperative by emphasising skills development that leads to meaningful employment and strengthened civic voice. Together with the Valuable 500, Afrika Tikkun will continue to advocate for inclusive mind-sets and create collaborative opportunities for disability-focused organisations across the sector. #DisabilityInclusion #Valuable500 #DisabilityAwareness #CradleToCareer #Empowerment
