When you add a Google account, the information associated with that account, such as your email and contacts, is automatically added to your device. When you remove an account, you also delete everything associated with that account from your device. This includes email, contacts, and settings.
Important: Some of these steps only work on Android 14 and up. Learn how to update your Android version.

Understand managed devices & accounts
If you sign into your Pixel device with an account that's managed by an employer or educational institution, you'll be notified that the device is managed. After you sign in, you may need to ask your organization's administrator to turn on settings. This will let you download Android apps from the Google Play Store and use your digital assistant from Google.
Use a digital assistant from Google with a managed device
To use your Google digital assistant on a Pixel device for work or school, ask your administrator to turn on Search and Assistant services and Web and App Activity.
Keep in mind that data in your work profile is visible to your IT administrator. The administrator can also control the device and block apps from being installed on your device.
If your device was set up through a K-12 school or non-profit group, you won't be able to use a digital assistant from Google. This also applies if you have a school (.edu) email address. If you use a work account, your organization's administrator might need to enable features like Assistant before you can use them.
Set up a personal profile
Even if the primary user account on your device is managed by another person or institution, you can also sign into your personal account. Learn more about personal profiles on devices owned by your organization.
Manage apps on different accounts
Android apps are linked to the account that you used to install them. This means that different apps might be installed on your personal account compared to apps that are installed on your work or school account.
